Unfortunately, not all ITA Airways airlines welcome dogs on board. To find out if your flight welcomes pups, contact ITA Customer Care well in advance of travel.

Small dogs, cats and ferrets in a carrier with a combined weight under 17 lbs (8 kg) are welcome to fly in the cabin with ITA Airways. The maximum number of pets allowed inside a carrier is 5, as long as the weight limit is not exceeded. The fee for this service is $83 on domestic flights, $115 on flights to/from Europe and North Africa, and $240 on flights to any other destinations.

Animals who exceed the limit to travel in the cabin, but do not exceed 165 lbs (75 kg) can be transported as checked baggage instead. The fee for this service is $83 on domestic flights, $105 on flights to/from Europe and North Africa, and $230 on flights to any other destinations.

For pets traveling in the cabin, soft-sided carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 9" x 16" x 8" (24 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm). The bottom of the carrier must be covered with a blanket, newspaper or other absorbent material. For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers must be hard-sided. The size of carriers in the hold varies depending on the aircraft.
