There are a limited number of pets permitted on each flight. In the cabin of B737 aircraft, 3 pets are allowed; and on B777 aircraft, 4 pets are allowed. Pets in the Cabin
Small dogs, cats, and birds can travel in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 11 lbs (5 kg). Each passenger is permitted to bring 1 pet on board with them. The fee for this service is 10,000 KRW on domestic flights; and there's an excess baggage fee depending on the weight of your pet and carrier on international flights.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Dogs, cats, and birds can travel as checked baggage if they don't meet the requirements for transport in the cabin. To qualify for travel as checked baggage, the combined weight of the pet and carrier should not exceed 99 lbs (45 kg). Each passenger is permitted to travel with 2 pets as checked baggage. Additionally, 2 dogs or 2 cats under 6 months of age can travel in the same carrier if they are the same breed. The fee for pets traveling as checked baggage is 2000 KRW per kg on domestic flights. On international flights to Japan, China, and Taipei, the fee is $100 for pets under 70 lbs (32 kg), and $200 for pets weighing between 72-99 lbs (33-45 kg); to South East Asia, Guam, and Saipan, the fee is $150 for pets under 70 lbs (32 kg), and $300 for pets weighing between 72-99 lbs (33-45 kg); to Honolulu, the fee is $200 for pets under 70 lbs (32 kg), and $400 for pets weighing between 72-99 lbs (33-45 kg).
For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the combined dimensions of 45" (115 cm). They are permitted to be soft or hard in the cabin. Cardboard boxes can be used on domestic flights that can be purchased from the airline. For pets traveling in the hold, carriers must not exceed the combined dimensions of 96" (246 cm). They should be made of hard material that is waterproof, ventilated, and lockable.
Pets must be healthy and at least 8 weeks old to travel. Hostile, smelly, unhealthy, or pregnant animals will not be allowed to travel. Jin Air does not allow the following breeds to travel: Tosa, American Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, and mixeds of these breeds.
