Pets in the Cabin
Small pets are welcome in the cabin with Ravn Alaska. Up to 2 familiar pets of the same species and similar size may travel in the same carrier, provided they remain inside throughout the journey. The fee for transporting pets in the cabin is $100.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Animals weighing under 149 lbs (67 kg) can be checked as baggage. Up to 2 familiar pets of the same species and similar size may travel in the same carrier, as long as they remain inside throughout the journey. The fee for transporting pets as checked baggage is $100.
Pets in Cargo
Any animal weighing over 149 lbs (67 kg) or that does not fit in a 500-size kennel; spiders; large birds; chickens; wild animals; farm animals; pigs (pot bellies excluded); and amphibians can be shipped as cargo with the Ravn Alaska Cargo Department. You can contact the Anchorage Central Office at 907-243-276 for more information about transporting your pet as cargo.
Carriers on Ravn Alaska flights should be structurally sound; constructed of plastic, wood or metal; be escape-proof; properly ventilated without offensive doors; leak-proof with safe, non-toxic absorbent bedding; and large enough for the animal to freely stand, sit, turnaround and lie down inside. For pets in the hold, the name, address, and phone number of the passenger must be on the carrier, along with the signature certifying the animal has been offered food and water within four hours of scheduled flight departure. Feeding instructions must also be included. Inside, you need to provide your pet with 2 dishes accessible from the outside.
Brachycephalic (short nose) dogs and cats are permitted to travel with Ravn Alaska, but they do travel at the owner’s risk. Sometimes animals of this nature can suffer health problems during flights.
