Pets in Cargo
Pets are welcome to travel in the hold on select Virgin Atlantic flights. You can transport your pet on the same flight as you, or they can go it alone. Pet travel is handled through Virgin's Cargo Department. You can contact them by phone directly at 800-828-6822 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
For pets traveling in the hold, the minimum size for a carrier is 20" x 15" x 15" (53 cm x 40 cm x 38 cm). Once inside their carrier, Fido must be able to lie down, turn around, and stand up (with at least 5 cm / 2 in between the top of your pet’s head and the roof of the box). The carrier should have a secure locking mechanism, a leak-proof base, be made of wood or hard plastic, ventilated and rigid on all sides (non-collapsible), and not have a roof with a grill that opens. Additionally, you should provide your pet with ample water in a bowl connected to the inside of the carrier.
