narrow beach

I really wanted to love this beach, but we found it was very narrow and there was no way to get away from people and other dogs on the dog beach. With the sand dunes, it was hard to find space to enjoy the water with our dog. I think there are better dog beaches within an hour of here that are more worthy of a visit. But if you are in the area, it is not a bad option.

Off Leash Area!

LOVED this spot! We went in the summer during the week and had the place all to ourselves. They have both a fenced-off, off-leash area and on-leash area for dogs. We were in the off-leash area and out pup was able to explore while we enjoyed their great beverages.

At the time they also had a treat board for dogs that was a nice touch!

We love the Pinery (in the off-season!....it is too busy in the summer for us)! In the winter, spring and fall we love going to the Pinery. There are lots of fantastic trails and a long wonderful beach. The beach remains warm into the fall, so our dog can run in with no hesitation.

So welcoming to dogs!

We love Heeman's! They are so welcoming to dogs, and there is more than enough space to distance from others if needed....that is, if you do not go at peak times (Heemans is very popular)!

Best dog beach in the area!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the dog beach here! The water is shallow for our pup who loves the water but needs to touch the bottom.

There is lots of room for the dogs to run around, and there is both an on and off leach section.

Grogs is a frequent stop in the summer after enjoying the near by beach!

Great food, and their outside are in very dog-friendly!! Could not recommend more!

(Their perogie pizza is very good!)

Powerhouse is pretty dog-friendly with its large outdoor area. We have only received great service with our pup.

My only complaint is that part of the patio in the summer is on pavement and can get hot with the pup. If you bring your pup, I recommend asking for a spot on their covered patio.

Great beer and dog service!

The staff here were very friendly and took great care of our dog. We got a water bowl right away, and the staff was mindful of other dogs on the patio.

Great spot

We really enjoyed our stay here! We received a room with direct access to the outside, had access to all public areas of the hotel with our pup (except the pool and restaurant), and the location is a short walk to the falls and surrounding green space. Upon arrival, we were given a dog goody bag with bags and a water bowl (that we are still using). We were also able to leave our pup in the room while we went for dinner. The receptionist just asked that we informed them, and were reachable if an issue were to occur.
