We have two fairly large dogs. One Labradoodle and one Aussiedoodle. We never leave them alone in any accommodation. We prefer ground floor rooms close to an exit for ease of bring the dogs in and taking them out without interacting with other guests although both dogs are very friendly.

Unsatisfactory
Red Roof Inn Augusta Washington RoadThis hotel is totally unsatisfactory. I requested/reserved a ground floor single king but on arrival was assigned a second floor double queen. The door did not latch securely except when the deadbolt was engaged. The screws holding the security latch were coming loose and would not secure the door. The pillows were disgusting and we had them changed before we would use them. The carpet was filthy. The toilet barely flushed liquid waste and leaked water on the floor throughout our stay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful but could not make up for the condition of the facility. The hotel appears to be undergoing renovation but until that is complete it should be avoided. I would sleep in my car before staying in this hotel again. I would have assigned zero bones if I was able to.
