We liked this hotel. Very nicely appointed, clean, convenient bar/restaurant and the staff is very cordial and efficient. Our only criticisms are: 1) No breakfast included 2) the rooms could use more hooks - important when travelling for hanging clothes, etc. 3) some of the outlets in the room do not "hold" a plug (too loosed) and 4) a side table on both sides of the bed would be nice.

Love our stays at the Tru Hiltons. Clean, convenient, comfortable and reasonable. Always works.

This place was a nightmare. The toilet didn't work, the door to the bathroom wouldn't close, and the room was filthy. There was enough dirt under the bed and chairs to stuff a mattress: dirt, dust, grime, bits of old food... disgusting. Do not stay at this hotel. Spend some extra $ and book the Comfort Inn a half a block away.

This is not a 5 start hotel, but it has the essentials. Very clean, easy entrance to carry in luggage and get the pooch in. Staff was efficient and courteous. Only suggestion would be to replace the fluorescent lights in the room with something more natural.

Bathroom toilet barely flushed. The bathroom also had no towel rack nor any hooks to hang wet towels. I will say the shower was great. Breakfast area was kind of messy and unkempt. This could have been a nice stay, but stuff like this ruins it. Although the staff was friendly and attentive, I won't book again.

The Hampton Inn in Mechanicsville had a lot of construction in progress at the main entrance and the foyer had industrial vacuums and other equipment laying about. It was difficult to get staff at the desk when we first arrived - which was frustrating after 10 hours on the road - they seemed to be "elsewhere". Once we got someone to check us in, they were very hurried and kind of curt. This said, the room itself was very nice. Updated, convenient. Great bathroom. I would give it another try in the future to see if things change once the renovations are done.

We found the room to be comfortable, clean and convenient. The staff at the front desk was very friendly, courteous and helpful. The price was very reasonable. Will stay again when we pass through the area.
