Not worth it

Sonesta Simply Suites Denver West Federal Center

Check-in staff was friendly and accommodating. The location and hotel were quiet. However, the room was not clean. We took out two coffee mugs, since breakfast is not provided, and they both had been used with old, coagulated coffee in them; no dish soap was provided to even clean them. Shower was not very clean, but did drain. They do not take cats, though will make exceptions and gave us no issues.

Of a ten day trip across the country and back, the pet fee here was the highest we paid, which was disappointing, given the poor quality of the place. It also was our most expensive night in any hotel, as well as the worst. The parking was not convenient to our room and required us to use a key to get in the front door after 8pm - security is nice, but it was a process to unload our car. They charge $5 for parking in their lot, which wasn't snow plowed or salted. We parked on ice and snow and carried our belongings and animals in on ice.

The hotel is a converted Candlewood Suites and they have duct taped over the old Candlewood signage which seems to be a great metaphor for how they run the entire place. Of ten hotels we just stayed at, this one ranked at the bottom due to the lack of cleanliness, high cost and irksome additional fees ($200 when all was said and done - the Kimpton was $229 for the same date and charges no pet fees), and poor quality. They take a $100 deposit (aside from the extra fees and hotel room payment), and it took them ten days to remove the pending fee from my credit card.

Very accommodating

My Place Hotel - Indianapolis Airport/Plainfield In

This was our first stay at a My Place and we found them to be entirely friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the full kitchenette and having a 3rd floor room without any hassle over our pets. I thought the room could have been somewhat cleaner (the floor especially was not clean), but it was acceptable for a one night stop.

Huge hotel, recent updates

La Quinta by Wyndham Joplin

This is an enormous La Quinta and was very busy when we were there, with quite a bit of noise. Luckily, we were upgraded to a suite and were able to shut an extra door to block some noise. There was not enough light in the suite and the setup was a little odd, but they were in the midst of renovations, so may not have been completely finished yet. It was great to have updates and fresh paint. We appreciated that there was no pet fee. La Quinta used to be our go to since they allowed pets without fees, but that no longer seems to be the case at many of their locations. Well lit parking lot, convenient to food and lovely front desk staff.
