Good

Home Run Dog Park

it a good park with a large and small dog side. I only gave 3 stars(bones) because people here thought it was ok to pick my dog up and hold it instead of letting him play. I actually thought someone stole my dog because I couldn’t find him. Turns out a gentleman and lady had him on their lap. I don’t let him on my couch or chairs, and they were holding him. 3 times I had to call my dog, last time I went over and took him from the people and left. There was a group of 8 people there all who seemed like it’s ok to hold other people’s dogs. Wasted my time of letting my puppy play and get energy out.

Fun times

Rosie's Dog Beach

Lots of dogs to play with big and small. Not too big of waves to worry about. Good food nearby to grab a bite after playing.

Nice

Dog Park at El Dorado East Regional Park

it is a great park with grass and lots of dogs to play. It has big and small dog sides. It is worth paying the entrance fee or buying the pass. You can let your dogs play together at the dog park and then enjoy strolling around the huge beautiful park. Everyone is welcoming and very attentive to their dog while in the dog park. It does get a bit muddy after the rain but I bathe my dog after playing anyways. Great park and nice people.

Beach fun

Huntington Dog Beach

This is a big beach with lots of room for your dog to run and play. I did learn though that not everyone that bring a their dogs to the beach have dog friendly dogs. Which is fine because they walk with them in the leash. I need to teach my puppy not to run up to every dog it sees if I let it off the leash.

Worst

Dog Park at Arbor Park

This is not a welcoming park. The dogs are territorial that frequent the park. The owners are grouped together and do not talk or socialize with anyone but with each other. I brought my 11 month shitzu and my 9 year old son there to try it out since it is the only other dog park close besides el dorado. When we entered we were approached by a very angry dog barking relentlessly at us. Other dogs began as they are pack animals. We moved away from the entrance hoping the dog would stop since no one told it stop. What shocked and scared me is the dog turned on my child who was holding onto my leg and started lunging at him and I. I had to grab my puppy and tell the dog no numerous times. Only to hear the dogs owner yell from across the park “ keep barking until they pet you” I’m sorry but I do not think it is a good idea to reward or try and pet a dog a dog who is lunging and trying to bite us as we were corned. I had to hold my kid who is 55 pounds and my puppy to get out. It was quite traumatic and I wouldn’t go back there. It took a while before we returned even to el dorado park since we were a bit scared of that happening to us again somewhere else. I would avoid this area. El dorado park is worth paying for to not get attacked or have my pup learn bad habits. Avoid.
