Great Location

This hotel is near St. Augustine center. There are a few good comments here and a few negative ones. That said, let me begin with the positive. Besides the location (you got that in the title), there is a dog park; although the description of agility course is a bit over rated. There is a round tube to travel though and a ramp up and down, but it allows you to let your car-tired pup romp a bit off leash. The hotel staff is very nice and there are dog cookies and sometimes human cookies in the lobby. There is also a sort of bar that serves Margaritas but not sure how extensive it is. There is a breakfast that includes eggs, bacon, yogurt etc. There are small water and dog bowls (yes that is a plus).

Now to the cons. The bed was way too soft. There is a dog bed in the room but my dog would not go near it and doubt it had been washed. Now onto the really frustrating part. I paid what I thought was the entire fee but got to the hotel and found that they changed a hotel service fee per day ($25 plus a tax and some other fee). We stayed two days and I have no idea what that fee covered since they did not change any linens. We also got locked out and needed to get our key reconfigured. There is a $25 dog fee daily, which then has an additional service charge and tax on that fee. Yes, Beau was taxed. If you think, "Hey that's just a little," try $111. So before you book at this hotel, either book directly or do a better job of reading fine print before you book.
