Not the best
Discovery LodgeIt’s a bit run down and the area around the little lake was literally a crap graveyard! You had to watch where you stepped. It was that bad. Dog droppings everywhere! Also, I wasn’t feeling well due to altitude sickness, low blood sugar. My father was flying in to Denver to help me complete my drive and an ice/ freezing rain storm was coming; I was driving a big truck and pulling a 25’ trailer and wanted to leave early to avoid any issues on the steep and winding canyon road leaving Estes Park. I had booked two nights there and checked out early so as to pick up my dad from the airport and although it seemed likely the Lodge was going to refund my reservation for the second day, they did not. When I go back to Rocky Mountain National Park in the near future, I will not be booking a stay at the Discovery Lodge!
