Dog heaven!

Fitger’s not only allows dogs, they revel in them. When we checked in the staff greeted our lab with treats and hugs. They came out from behind the banker’s cage/check in area to cuddle him. Jodi was especially kind to the three of us. The hotel complex has a relaxed vibe. The history of the place is fascinating and it’s been repurposed invitingly. Our pup was able to accompany us wherever we went. It seems the guests know to expect dogs and embrace them as well. One fellow listened to our pup growl a bit (young and learning manners) and announced, “Your dog just told me he’d like me to pet him!” 😃. Hotel room was comfy, had a great view of the lake (watched freighters pass by), coffee in the AM and a newspaper outside the door. It felt old-world indulgent. Absolutely worth the splurge.
