BRING WATER!!!

Vagabond Cruise

Very dog friendly!! Let me bring my dog on the ocean dolphin cruise. Only thing is that it would've been nice for them to provide a water bowl for the dog. I was told they didnt allow outside food and beverage, but once on the ship I saw them allow others bring it on. They sold water but it was $2 and only took cash which I didn't have. It was around 95 degrees so it was hot. I did have a cooling vest on him and we sat in the shade so he was fine but water would've been a nice touch. It was poor planning on my part which is why it was a 5 star review. Everything about the crew, the boat, and the cruise was wonderful! We saw lots of dolphins and other marine life as well and got a great tour of daufuskie island and hilton head.

Not the best in Florida but the best on this side of the state.

Smyrna Dunes Park

Yes. You have to pay $10 to get in. Yes, parking is limited. We went at around 12 on a Friday and it was perfect, we went right in and got a spot and walked to the ocean. I am not sure which side we were on we just followed the trail until we hit water. There was a boardwalk that was maybe 30 yards out running parallel to the beach which had a bunch of fishers on it but they left when we got there either because our dogs scared their fish or because they were being nice. The beach was really nice, it was not busy but it is also December. We didn’t see any jelly fish. It was our dogs first time swimming in the ocean! They loved it. We found a spot that bumped up against the coast guard and there was no one in the area so we did let the dogs off leash but any time someone came or walked by we leashed them. They really need to make this park or a section of it off leash. Like I said it isn’t the best beach in Florida but it is the best in the area. If you are able to, go to Fort De Soto’s dog beach over near Tampa. I believe it’s cheaper to get in, and it’s off leash and larger and much nicer.

Best place on the boardwalk!

Sloppy Joe's

We took our dogs to the boardwalk which allows dogs as long as they are on a leash (dogs are NOT allowed on the beach) there wasn’t very many accommodating places on the boardwalk however Sloppy Joes was great! They have a huge outdoor seating area so you can either choose to sit on the balcony on the second level looking out at the ocean or in the shade around the corner. The staff brought out a bowl of water for our 4 dogs and everyone came over to pet them! Most other places in the area only had one or two small tables that accommodated dogs but Sloppy Joes welcomed by with open arms.
