Exhausting but rewarding.
Chimney Rock State ParkMe and my 11yo Beagle mix Cody did the Hickory Nut Falls trail and then up to Chimney Rock and the Opera Box. The trail to the bottom of the falls is a lot easier than the others we did as those were mostly uphill and up flights of stairs, but when you get to Chimney Rock, you really feel like you accomplished something. The dog handled the hike better than I did but we both had an absolute blast. They even gave him a couple treats when we drove in at the ticket gate! Very picturesque, if you’re looking for some great views and want to tire your pup out, this is the place!

Friendly and Welcoming!
Marengo CaveWas able to bring my Beagle mix dog on the tour in a backpack carrier but a front carrier would have worked much better. The staff was incredibly welcoming to us and helped us get caught up with a group that just started as we showed up a little late. Would recommend this to anyone with calm dogs who are small enough and don’t mind sitting in a carrier for an hour or two. The tour is very fun, too. Love caves and am glad I was able to bring my dog.
