Sunday Brunch with the pups
Thos. O'Reilly's Public HouseOn a cool fall day, we brought our 2 dogs for lunch on the covered patio. There was a lively and friendly group of regulars, possibly meeting for a book club. Our server promptly took our drink orders and also brought out a large bowl of water for the dogs. There is so many good options on the menu, including the Sunday Brunch menu. Service was quick, the food was presented beautifully. Cloth napkins is a good sign. The food was presented nicely, they care about their food as much as the drinks. Our server was gracious and attentive. Our dogs certainly felt welcomed. Ample parking, lots of shade and outdoor space, great food (including desserts) and a huge drink menu (on-tap, wine, cocktails, 90 whiskies!). So many food and beer options that I'll be returning again and making this a regular weekend-outing-with-the-dogs spot.

Rainy Day dining
Sticky FingersWe arrived just as it started raining. A server promptly set up a large umbrella on their patio to keep us and our pups dry. We ordered their ribs and the ribhouse sandwich (½ pulled pork, ½ chopped brisket with coleslaw) washed down with seasonal pumpkin porter beer. There was 3 different BBQ sauces to try. Anna, our server, was attentive despite the rain.

Friendly staff and delicious Brunch
Scottie's On the RiverThe staff was very welcoming of our party of 4 (2 humans and 2 dogs). Kori, our server, brought out a big bowl of water with ice cubes for our pups. Other staff came out to say “hello” to our dogs too. We sat on the fenced-in patio under the shade of a colorful umbrella. Our dogs were happy to people-watch passing by on the Riverwalk below while we munched on blackened salmon with asparagus and fried chicken and French toast which came with house-made hot pepper jelly syrup. We subbed the breakfast potatoes for incredibly yummy cheddar bacon jalapeno grits! We were there during Sunday Brunch and Kori brought out a tall glass of vodka and ice and directed me to their well stocked bloody Mary bar. There was pickled green beans, fat olives, horseradish, several types of bloody Mary mix, hot sauces, salts, bacon crumbles, blue cheese, and more. We finished our meal with a sweet and tart key lime pie. Parking was easy and we enjoyed an after brunch walk along the mostly shaded Riverwalk.

Centrally located
Staybridge Suites Chattanooga Downtown - Convention Center an IHG HotelThe hotel is quickly and easily accessible off the interstate yet it is also situated in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Although it was next door to the convention center, there was no convention on the weekend we visited. There is ample parking with several small patches of grass for the dogs. The rooms were bigger than I expected and the kitchen was well equipped. The property was well-kept and clean. The hotel is centrally located - between attractions along both the river and Southside. The hot breakfast includes 3 waffle irons!
