Can't leave dogs alone

As much as I want this to be a dog friendly place, I was met with the lady at the front desk who brought her dog to work, who barked a bunch, and told me I cannot leave my dog in the room unattended, which was not voiced out to me when I checked in, but rather at 6pm as I wanted to go to the dinner and was basically forced to stay in the room as no pet-friendly place with food was open at the time. It might be a friendly hotel, if the receptionist you get is good. I was not so lucky with that. It was a complete bummer of the trip. Thanks!
