Never again!

The Residence Inn in Amarillo was our go to when visiting family. Used to be clean, rooms in good order, staff cordial with no issues. Not this time. Upon checking in the front desk clerk said "I have the perfect room for you!" It was not.

First our key card didn't work. Upon entering there was duck tape holding the carpet down. It was a tripping hazard. Second the ballast on the outdoor light was going bad so it made a horrible high pitched noise. The black out curtains were so brittle and falling apart that even though they were safety pinned together they didn't block out the light. The room smelled. We were moved to another room. It was in better shape.

There were issues with the coding of the key card. Every night after a long day of visiting with family we had to go down and have our key card recoded to get into our room. After two nights of our week long stay I received an email thanking us for our stay? Another visit to the front desk.

The most disturbing event that happened was our credit card was double charged after already paying up front with BringFido. After getting nowhere with the front desk to rectify the issue we contacted BringFido and they helped us with getting a credit back to our card. Thank you BringFido! We will never stay at the Residence Inn in Amarillo again. And of course after all was said and done we were charged the pet fee. Shame on you Marriott Bonvoy

Clean, comfortable stay

Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Teddy's bed fit perfectly in the open closet nook. After a long day of travel the room was a comfortable and great value to relax in for the next day of travel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a early start and the staff let us know that the coffee/tea/cocoa and cereal bar was open 24/7, they even had oatmeal!
