Such a lovely hotel!

Nicest I've stayed at for the price point by far. Spacious, stylish, super clean, quiet, friendly staff, tasty breakfast. Would happily return!

Lovely little inn!

Great stay. Everything was clean, quiet, and well appointed! Just a tip for folks traveling with cats or small dogs: you might need to pull the bedframe out from the wall to center the mattress on it so your smaller pets don't go wandering inside the bedframe ;)

AVOID

Wish I had just left and demanded a refund, but I was stuck in a snowstorm and had no choice for pet-friendly hotels.

At check-in, you're given a long list of rules to acknowledge and sign - no drugs, no parties, no criminal activities, how many warnings until the cops are called, etc - and this should have clued me into the kind of clientele frequenting this establishment. How many times does the above have to happen in order for a business to make initialing every item on that list a step in the check-in process?

As I got to my room, I noticed marks on the door, where it had apparently been previously clawed open by a crowbar. Classy. The smell of cleaner/fumigator in the room was overpowering, to the point where it made me dizzy and my pets kept sneezing. The carpet was disgusting. There's a layer of some kind of powder cleaner that has become musty and sticky and clings to everything.

Of course, my pets rolled around on it, and their fur became disgusting, so I had to wipe them down with baby wipes before we hit the road. There were spots of cleaner (what I hope was cleaner, anyway) gunked into the floor, and huge rips everywhere. One hopes this was a pet-friendly cleaner, given this was a pet-friendly room.

The couch in the "living room" area of the room looks like a crime scene itself. I didn't go near it. Completely covered in stains and falling apart. The shower didn't drain, and the water never got hot, so I couldn't even shower off the gross feeling of just being in the room and breathing that air. And the fridge wasn't cold, so now I'm afraid to eat my leftovers. Don't want to add food poisoning to the list of terrible experiences here.

The only positive is that the bedsheets smelled and looked clean, although they are threadbare. So we were able to sleep for a couple of hours. Until the neighbors started screaming and throwing things and making a ton of noise overhead. Did they not have to initial the list of rules? Guess they had two warnings before the cops came 🙄

Voting with my dollar and never staying at a La Quinta again, or any Wyndham-owned property. I suggest you do the same and let this terrible place know that you only patron clean and safe environments.

Wonderful stay!

Clean, quiet, spacious, well-equipped — a perfect place to stay with pets for a night while driving cross-country, and an especially welcoming and cozy experience after an awful stay at a La Quinta in Rockford the night before. Couldn't be more pleased with TownePlace!
