We live in Austin and currently have a pit mix named Moka. She has a friend in Atlanta and one in Minneapolis so we visit there often.

Great Park to stop on way through town. Big dogs and little dog areas with shade trees and benches. Big water tubs for drinking or dunking. Human bathrooms a plus. Theres a nice big grassy area to throw balls and knock out some energy. Definitely recommend!

Stopped here on long drive to Colorado. Large area for dogs to run and explore. Several big shade trees with benches. Water fountain for people and dogs. One of the best parks we've been to.

This is a nice city park with lots of shade trees and a nice cement pathway for walking or biking along a small river. Picnic tables under the trees and the public bathrooms are nice. Playground for the kiddos. No off leash. Nice stop.

Dairy Queen and fenced in yard with water for pooches to drink. The statue is outside the fenced yard.

This is the best dog park I've ever been to! The paths are wide and shady and have lots of places along the path for the dogs to explore. Lots of room to hike and explore! Then there is a LONG stretch of beach along the Mississippi River for the dogs to explore and hop into the water. It's absolutely beautiful! In the winter time the dogs play in the snow. Fall is just beautiful!
Yes, you are suppose to have a permit. If you are a visitor you can buy one on your phone if a park ranger is there looking for your license. Residents pay a little bit more for an annual pass. Well worth it! There are some stairs at the beginning so might not be stroller or wheelchair friendly.
