Decent Dog Park
Dog Park at Panther Springs ParkI enjoy taking my dog to this park. It’s very close to where I live so very convenient for me. There are a few negatives that I feel I should point out.
1) Location- Far North San Antonio. If you don’t live in the area it is a pain to get to.
2) Small- smaller than lots of other dog parks I’ve been to but sufficient.
3) Little shade- Not as shaded as lots of other dog parks making it undesirable to go to during midday of summer.
4) Water station location- All other parks have water station in the park. This one has water station in transition area from out of dog park to within dog park. If your dog gets thirsty you have to go through gate to get them water where other dogs might be entering or exiting park. I wish water stations were IN the dog park.
Other than that I enjoy this park. Great trail for walk/run as well.
Awesome Dog Park
Dog Park at McAllister ParkThis is probably my favorite Dog Park in San Antonio. Very large space, lots of trees for shade and centrally located in San Antonio. Only bad is its next to the airport so you’ll occasionally hear planes landing and taking off right above you. Great trails for run/walk or bike as well.
Great Off Leash Park
Auditorium Shores Off-Leash ParkThis was our first time at this location. We are from San Antonio and wanted to go to a park centrally located in Austin. This park is great for a few reasons.
1) Right along the water- Great views of water and downtown and if your four legged friend likes to get wet this is the place.
2) Right on a trail- Great to run/walk or bike on and trail runs right through park
3) Location- Centrally located and right next to downtown Austin. Beautiful views.
Only thing to be aware of is this park is NOT fully enclosed/fenced in. There’s open sections and fence will not hold small dogs in. You MUST keep an eye on your dog at all times. My dog generally stays near me but thought this was worth mentioning.
