Enjoyable restaurant for your pooch!

This family owned restaurant, I believe in business about a year, serves up some really good burgers and salads. And the sweet potato fries are incredible! Has outdoor seating with shade for you and your pooch.

Wonderful Egg Benedicts!

Really enjoyed the egg benedicts at Baja Cafe! They have more than one location, but this one on Campbell has dog friendly outdoor tables that are covered (in the shade). Yumm!

Good food!

So many restaurants in Bisbee are closed a day or more on weekdays. And although The Thirsty Lizard is one of them, if it is open, especially on half-off Mondays, it is definitely worth the drive a few miles outside of town. They allow dogs inside and the food is pretty darn good. I was told to try the tri-tip tacos, but they were out the Monday (Columbus Day) we went. But we enjoyed a very meaty burger, good sweet potato fries, and a salad. One of the better meals we had in Bisbee!

Good pastries for breakfast

Unlike another coffee place in Bisbee that served me a pastry from Costco, Bisbee Coffee makes their own. Outdoor seating for dogs. On some week days, a few breakfast places are closed. Bisbee Coffee Co., in the center of Bisbee, is definitely a good option.

Awesome scones!

Great place in Bisbee for breakfast with outdoor seating. The scones are humongous and really good. Try the mixed berry scone! And the breakfast burrito was pretty good too.

Great place!

My wife and I loved our room at the Palm Garden Hotel in Thousand Oaks, CA. It was clean, comfortable and had Netflix. I recommend paying a little more for the courtyard rooms especially if you are noise-sensitive. The hotel is located adjacent to the 101 freeway but the courtyard rooms are very quiet. We also enjoyed the breakfast with homemade salsa for the eggs. And we appreciated the lovely landscaping - a nice touch.

Disappointed!

Found Tac/Quila overpriced, even for Palm Springs. And both my wife and I didn't enjoy our two entrees--they were mediocre.

Loved it!

My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner at Soul Cafe in north Scottsdale. Both patios (with heaters) are dog friendly but if you want to partake of happy hour you need to be seated at the north patio. Their chicken pot pie was incredible! And on Wednesdays they have a chicken special and I think on Fridays there is a fish special. Will be back!

This is a great place for you and your dog!

My wife and I enjoyed a great lunch here the day before Thanksgiving 2022. The wings with the special KO sauce were very tasty, plump and plentiful. And the wedge salad is huge, easily good for at least 2 people. And the restaurant has a nice patio for you and your pooch!

Review by a Local

The Peacock Dining Room is located inside the Hassayama Inn in Prescott, the hotel known to be haunted, but that's another story. OK, I'm going to give away a secret by a local. While BringFido mentions they have outdoor seating during the warmer months that is dog friendly, they also allow dogs in the lobby (it is a pet friendly hotel after all) and they will serve food there too. Caveats: they had staffing shortages during Covid and were not always able to serve food in the lobby although like most times, including today, a weekday, we were able to order food with our dog in the beautiful lobby. Also, they used to have three tables in the lobby but it has been reduced to two, although there is another larger table in a lobby side room. And sometimes they hold special events in the lobby that will close down lobby dining but that is pretty rare.

If you go, I highly recommend the side salad (which is a wedge salad) as an appetizer for $5.50 (was $5.00 before the inflation price increases) but very worth it! They also have happy hour and you can get your drinks from the bar (I think they may also serve them too). It is really enjoyable to relax and dine with your pooch, with the sun shinning thru the big lobby windows, in this historic hotel!

Don't Miss!

If you find yourselves anywhere near the Salton Sea, you must drive on the beach at Bombay Beach and down all the streets in this small community. Very funky art everywhere! Although the Salton Sea may have a bit of odor as you get close, Bombay Beach is very interesting. Recommend visiting in cooler non-summer months, however.

Bombay Beach was once a popular getaway for beachgoers until the 1980s, when the increasing salinity of the Salton Sea destroyed the lake's ecosystem and drove businesses and private landowners out of the area, rendering Bombay Beach a near ghost town. Although the Ski Inn is still in business and serves food.

Bombay Beach is north of Niland where the Salvation Mountain is located.

Worth the wait!

My wife and I stopped for lunch on our way from northern AZ for a vacation in Palm Desert. It was unfortunately a Sunday and this place was packed! But it was worth the wait, the food was good, it's dog friendly on the patio, and if you have to wait a bit you can walk around the beautiful grounds until they call you on your cell to be seated.

Should have gone elsewhere!

My wife and I grew up in southern CA and always say it has the best Mexican food. But while Fresh Agave was crowded, we are wondering why??? The margaritas were not good and the couple at the table next to us said the same. We split the camarones al mojo de ajo where everywhere else we have ordered it has come with mushrooms. Not here though. It was just OK. And the entree was about $8 more than at our favorite Mexican restaurant here in northern AZ, but hey, it is CA. For dessert we tried the fried ice cream and the corn flakes tasted stale--my wife said it was the worst ever. All in all, we should have gone elsewhere!

A Great Place Especially with a Dog!

This Italian restaurant has beautiful outdoor seating (dog friendly) with heaters and misters. My wife and I really enjoyed the sangria, the pasta and a pizza! And don't miss the Italian bakery on the one side of the restaurant.

While it is located in Phoenix, it is pretty close to Scottsdale, just east on Greenway from the Kierland Commons.

Great Stay!

Highly recommend! We reserved a Deluxe King room--it was the nicest of all the numerous hotels we stayed at during a two week Pacific Northwest road trip originating in Arizona. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and while in Bellingham, take your pooch to Whatcom Falls Park--beautiful!

Incredible Pizza!

We did a two-week road trip and our dinner at Storia Cucina was one of the very best! Their pizza on sour dough crust is incredible! We had the Margherita pizza and added mushrooms--simply wonderful! They have an enclosed and heated outdoor seating area in the front of the restaurant for dogs.

And while in Bellingham, WA, also take your pooch to the beautiful Whatcom Falls Park.

Great place for dogs!

Apparently some of the other travel sites don't show this great place as dog-friendly. But especially in good weather, go to this place for a really enjoyable time on their patio while partaking of their really good sandwiches and salads.

Okay

Certainly not a luxurious hotel, but in Spring of 20221 we were able to get rates of around $100/night. Of course, no pet fee. No real breakfast. And we didn't understand that coffee isn't available until 7 AM in the lobby although they do have a coffee maker in the room.

The room was decent and clean. But the elevator floors and hallway carpeting were dirty--looked like they weren't mopped/vacuumed recently and the carpeting also stained--overdue for carpet cleaning.

Enjoyed our stay

Had an enjoyable stay at this hotel within walking distance of the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. The suite was a nice clean room with two great TVs including HBO channels. Breakfast was pretty good in these Covid times.

If you are a light sleeper like me, you may want to request a room that doesn't face the busy Scottsdale Rd. At the time of this review, the nightly pet fee was $25.

BW Thunderbird Suites

I booked a suite room which was pretty nice for my dog and me. The hotel is a short walk away from the Kierland Commons and the Scottsdale Quarter where there are nice restaurants and shops. It is also located across the street from the Scottsdale Airport which can be a little noisy--you may want to book a room that is more sheltered from the aircraft noise if that may bother you. Although the other BW in Scottsdale is located across from the Entertainment District that can have party noise 'til 2 AM.

But during these Covid times, they made real eggs for breakfast and offered a freshly made breakfast burrito too. Not a packaged breakfast.

My review to BW recommended that they add at least one movie channel like HBO or Showtime to their cable mix. At the time of my stay it was just your basic cable.

Worked out afterall

While initially, the Hotel Valley Ho posted some erroneous charges on our credit card, they eventually did they care of it. Note that while no pet fee or resort fee, there is a mandatory parking fee, whether you valet or self-park, that does not show up when you book a room on their website--the fee is buried in their hotel policies.

But the hotel and the grounds are beautiful and very dog friendly!

Had a great Thanksgiving breakfast!

My wife and I visited their other location, near Scottsdale Rd and McDowell, and we knew they would be open 'til noon on Thanksgiving. It has a nice outdoor seating area. We really loved the breakfast burrito and the huevos rancheros. Great Bloddy Mary! Staff was really great too!

Great Inexpensive Mexican

My wife and I when in Flagstaff always go here with our dog (they have an outdoor patio) for the really good and inexpensive Mexican food. Homemade tortillas too! And try the key lime pie for dessert!

Not a great experience

This hotel did seem clean and the room was pretty nice. However, our room wasn't ready at the check-in time, they were supposed to call us when it was ready but didn't, we returned an hour later but the room they gave us didn't have a functional TV and after trying to get it fix or get another room without success, we gave up and checked out. They did cancel our room expense. But also unfortunately the La Quinta website isn't updated properly to show there is no breakfast due to the coronavirus.

Not saying I won't try to stay here again with our dog, but I might have to wait a few years.

Not Great

At least for the pet rooms, this aged hotel is just not that great. If we do another trip to Tehachapi, we will likely find another place unless we learn this hotel has undergone a complete major upgrade.
