Not the place for us.
Throwback BreweryThe review is for how dog-friendly the location is, not the food. We didn't stay to eat for a couple reasons.
In order to get food or drinks you need to order inside but you can't bring your dog inside, so if you're eating solo this is a logistical headache. Additionally there were a LOT of screaming children running around the day we came to visit.
If you are coming with a group of people and someone can watch your dog while you order, you may be fine. And if you have a dog that doesn't want to chase children or moving things you may also be fine.
I just wish we had known in advance.
Not for all dogs
Rockland Breakwater LighthouseWe made it just shy of halfway across the breakwater before deciding it was too much for the dogs. This walk is busy, and quite a few misguided but well meaning passersby would call out to the dogs, creating a hazardous situation for the dogs who would try to go say hi but then stumble through the rocks. The gaps are quite large on some places, big enough for a paw top slip through. My oldest dog fell several times and struggled to get up.
This is a beautiful walk and location, but just far too crowded and unsafe for us.
Spectacular Views, Great Hike!
Camden Hills State ParkWe took a tip from a local and hiked Bald Rock instead of Battie. It was less crowded, and the views were stunning! The ascent was challenging, but I wouldn't consider it a difficult hike.
Yummy flatbreads!
Flatbread CompanyVery pleased with both the food and the service. There are a couple picnic tables outside that are dog friendly, and my waitress made us feel right at home. This is a good local chain if you want to upgrade your pizza experience.
Wonderful community park!
Jean H. Kislak Community Dog ParkStopped by on a visit to Rockport. Most of the other guests were also out of towners letting their pups run off some steam. This park was wonderful- plenty of room to run, a gazebo for the humans, water for the pups, and plenty of tennis balls! Highly recommend!
