High fee bad location
DoubleTree by Hilton ModestoThis hotel charges $75 per dog not $25. It is located at a busy intersection and has very little parking. They want you to park across the street in a parking garage which I didn’t want to do. Looked like car break in central to me. I paid $12 for a special permit to park in valet and waited for one of the very few spaces there. There are security guards walking the block, and in front of the hotel, police driving around, signs all over about surveillance, not leaving any valuables in your car, bolting your self in whenever in your room, not opening the door without using the peephole. The staff were very nice and the hotel was clean and nicely appointed although no microwave. However, It was clearly a dangerous part of town and I will never go there again.
Perfectly fine
Red Lion Hotel EurekaHotels in Eureka can be dodgey due to street people. Red lion had nice locked doors and a big parking lot with grass to walk in. Dog fee is reasonable and everyone is very nice to your dog. It’s the best place there.
