Perfect hotel for you and your do!
Geiser Grand HotelBeautiful restored hotel and very accommodating with our golden retriever. We enjoyed our stay as we headed out on our trip — we booked the same room for our return three weeks later! Great location for walking the pup, excellent restaurants within walking distance with outdoor seating.

Bad experience
Dog Park at Alton Baker ParkWe stopped by this park based on recommendations, and had a not so pleasant experience. It was a warm day and there was another man and his dog at the park. There was also another dog (an intact pit bull) and the other gentleman didn’t know who his owner was. I saw no other people in the dog park. The pit bull was okay at first, but then got aggressive with our gentle golden retriever. I shooed the pit bull away and he kept jumping on and growling at our dog. We leashed our dog and immediately left the park. Who leaves their dog alone in a dog park? Especially when they need help playing appropriately! That dog was an accident waiting to happen and it was a shame to not feel safe visiting this dog park.

Great place to stay!
Hotel Mission de OroWe stayed one night while driving between LA and Oregon. The room was clean, and we could unload our gear from the car right outside the room. It’s got lovely grounds to walk your dog, and someone is clearly working hard to fix up the older building. We’ll make this our mid-way stop from now on, as our dog loved it here. And the takeout we got at their restaurant was better than we had the rest of the trip.
