We typically travel with our dogs in our small RV, but occasionally use motel/hotel accommodations.

Great place for you and your dog!

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Williams-Grand Canyon Area

We have grown to like La Quinta as a place to stay with our 2 dogs across a number of states. We stayed in a variety of motels, several very special independents that I have reviewed previously. As far as chains go, in our opinion, La Quinta is the best (other Wyndham properties not so much). The Williams and Clinton, OK properties were especially great; lounge and bar in the lobby that was dog friendly, dogs could join you for breakfast in certain areas of the lobby at Williams, Clinton allowed dogs to be left in your room unaccompanied for a limited time. Both had good dog "exercise" areas. Both in great locations for food, beverage, & entertainment. The Grand Canyon Brewery restaurant next door to the hotel in Williams actually allows your well behaved dog to join you in the dining area! For people both have indoor heated pools and "gyms", lobby lounges with bars (at night), space for kids too. All in all, Williams tops the bill with Clinton a close second.

Outstanding!

La Quinta by Wyndham Clinton Historic Route 66

Exceptional for La Quinta; bar and lounge, swimming pool, gym. Conveniently located. Congenial staff, well maintained and clean. Lots of grassy areas for dogs. Unusual dog policy allows first dog free, second dog $21.90. Up to 3 dogs. Allows large dogs. Dogs may join you for breakfast in certain sections of lobby. Highly recommend, best place we've stayed in a cross country trip!

Less than advertised

AmericInn by Wyndham Memphis East

Despite its glamorous exterior and lobby the condition of the place was far less so. We were placed in a fourth floor room. When we opened the door the smell was both unusual and unappealing. Maybe someone's dog had an accident that wasn't adequately cleaned up? The carpet was torn in several places, no Kleenex in the dispenser, no stoppers in the sink or bath tub. The entire place seemed to be deteriorating. They did discount the pet fee because they had stopped providing breakfast as was advertised. The tables and chairs from the dining area were stacked just off the lobby and the breakfast equipment was all labeled "out of order". All in all a very disappointing experience. We would not recommend.

Clean & Convenient, but pricey & noisy

Motel 6 Ventura Downtown CA

It's a nicely kept Motel 6, but rather pricey, $150+ with limited amenities; no coffee service, small strip of grass between sidewalk and a very busy thoroughfare for dog duty. Convenient location down town, but lots of homeless people and very noisy guests; wild party noise from 9:15AM til 10:30PM (on a Friday). Probably look elsewhere next time in Ventura. Pierpont Inn is a possibility; a classic relic, but reviews indicate it's not well kept up by Westin, though slightly less expensive than M6 and includes breakfast. Spoiler alert-they issue earplugs when you check in. Wish M6 had!

Nice: Clean, pleasant staff, small dog area

Motel 6 Buellton CA - Solvang Area

A very clean room and a very pleasant staff; they even called our room after check in to be sure every thing was OK-it was. Our experiences in other Motel 6s hasn't been as good, this one is well run. The only reason I didn't give it 5 bones is that the area available for dog duty/exercise is quite small, although exceptionally clean, well maintained and supplied. There is a large grassy area behind and below the motel, but there is no easy access to it. In any case, we would be pleased to stay here again when it the area.
