Just a wonderful place, very sweet to my dog

My sheltie insists that I give the Boulder Creek Inn a great review, and I agree. He was spoiled with some kind of duck jerky and did all his tricks for this every time we went to the front desk. Sam at the front desk is an angel, and we were pretty tired after driving up from SLC but she held a room when I called from Boise. Only minor issue was working with the dial on the room heater, which needed to be jiggled a bit to go on. Otherwise, nice clean room, nice amenities including a small cooktop and a coffee maker, as well as lobby coffee.

Basically good with some drawbacks

I chose this La Quinta for my SLC trip with my sheltie based on the fact I could get to downtown in 10 minutes for a show, and that it allows pets to be left in the room unattended, which is what I needed. The room was sizeable and comfortable.

There were two drawbacks:
* A leaky bathroom faucet, which was strange in a higher-end hotel chain. Water seeped out heavily when it was turned to the hot water setting.
* A strange experience on check in, where the clerk almost melted down when I held the room keys next to my cell phone. He felt that I would demagnetize the keys, which I have never heard of, and which seems to be hard to determine if this really ever happens. All he had to do was mention this BEFORE I placed the keys on my phone, or not at all, in the absence of real proof this is an issue. Instead he threw a bunch of attitude to me, a very weary traveler. I put this down to stresses and strains of the "lockdown," but it would have been SO easy for him to pleasantly say something about keys demagnetizing BEFORE giving them to me, rather than later.

Good price

Good price and flexibility for bringing in my 4 small pets. Room a little worn, and couldn't get advertised wifi.

Wonderful people at the front desk

Comfortable clean rooms, a nice breakfast area, and wonderful managers who allowed me to bring in extra pets since they are small
