The motel itself might be OK. It is older and pretty rough looking on the outside, particularly in back. But the rooms have been remodeled in the last couple of years and were clean. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It was the neighborhood that was the issue. There are some closed businesses and an old motel across the street that is either apartments or a place for the homeless to crash. There was a guy setting off fireworks there when we got out of our car. When we asked the desk person about that she indicated he'd "pass out" soon. So if your dog is bothered by those skip this one. The neighborhood is loud and I am guessing never gets quiet. It also appeared that some people are living in the motel long-term. The whole thing gave us an unsafe feeling. So bad that we opted not to stay there. I would not recommend - there are other options nearby that are dog friendly - and I hope the owner approaches the city council and pushes them to clean up that end of town.
