Great stay for the money
Motel 6 Blythe CA - SouthWe arrived just before midnight, if this happens to you ring the bell and be patient. Our room was very bare bones but clean. No shampoo, just bar soap but there is an albertsons across the road if you forget anything. The queen beds were comfortable/soft, sheets clean. The towels could benefit from some bleach but also clean. A/C worked well, lots of tv channels. Our dog will not use the bathroom on gravel so we walked him in the neighborhood next to the hotel (brought our own bag as the hotel was out of them). I would not recommend walking your dogs away from the lights of the hotel after dark as we saw some very shady characters while driving in (the parking lot however was well lit and our car was safe). As a plus, we had breakfast at a mexican place down the road, they had a front patio and let our dog join us. My husband is not a motel 6 fan but he said he would stay at this location again.

Great location, very pet friendly
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Carpinteria an IHG HotelOn check in they asked if our dog was eith us, I had to sign a damage agreement (not a problem). We were given a room close to an exit/grass (there are green poop bags at every entrance/exit and trash cans everywhere). The room was clean, beds very comfortable, plenty of pillows, good sized mini fridge with small freezer, microwave, coffee maker. No dogs allowed in the breakfast area, and not allowed alone in the room so we rotated staying with the dog, then ate together in room on the coffee table. Hotel is near the beach and close to shopping/food. After breakfast we had a long walk and syill plenty of time to shower and pack before the 12 noon check out. The only negative is that the parking lot could be better lit at night. Everything else was great, friendly staff, books/games in the lobby, breakfast was prepacked for safety and the pool was open. We only stayed 1 night but we all agreed we will be back.
