Ideal drive stopover
Best Western Plus Red River InnTypical box hotel in small town Texas. Newer property with lots of green lush verges outside, ideal for the particular pooper. Pet friendly rooms or on ground level, close to access doors. Sonic next door, with outside patio tables for the doggy diners., Allsups across the road fir everything else

Mountain Village
Fairmont Heritage Place Franz Klammer LodgeRented a three bedroom suite at the Franz Klammer to get out of summer heat for a while. Telluride and Mountain Village is one of the most dog friendly areas in the country. Lots of green space and pet stations. Maybe it is the altitude or something, but the dogs really mellow out in the hills and are less territorial. FK is a large sprawling hotel in the center of Mountain Village. They have many guest/doggy suites and they provide doggy essentials. Walk to outside grass spots depends on room, can be a little convoluted at times
