Not Impressed

I drove an extra couple hours on my way back north to stay at a nicer hotel... Kimpton's have always been great. I'm not sure what the story is - but they are dropping the ball. It seems like they're using the covid excuse to cut back on their expenses.

Showed up around 9pm. No valet. No-one at the door at all. I put my flashers on and go in... guy at the desk was hanging out. He was fine - wouldn't call it a professional welcome. I check in to find out there is no parking. "Sorry, no valet and our garage is full. You'll need to find a spot on the road. IDK, maybe check to see if someone left the garage" Fortunately, I did find a space that would fit an SUV in the small garage because my car was pack from being in FL. I'm alone with two dogs, no help with bags and its 9:30pm in a city setting - I would have found another place if I had to park on the street. I find my way through the bowels of the garage/basement of the hotel and finally get to the room. Room was clean, bed comfortable. No amenities beyond that - covid.

I'm starving at this point - restaurant is closed (9pm on a Sat?) so I ask about door dash or something. "Oh sorry, we don't allow 3rd party deliveries". OMG!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I get up at the crack of dawn and was out of there by 7:30am and found a beautiful park overlooking the cemetery - because there isn't a blade of grass within blocks for the dogs! My advice, KEEP DRIVING!!! (I'll also add that I own a restaurant, so I get the service industry and the daily/covid challenges. I NEVER leave bad reviews, this one was just too much!)

Couldn’t have been nicer

was at Boston’s with my two cavaliers last Sunday. the place was mobbed and they were able to give us an outdoor table with little wait. they brought a bowl of water over. our server and hostess were both sweethearts - and busting their butts on a busy day. great experience!
