Don't park on the street side

The hotel itself was serviceable, nothing special. We needed a place to stay with our dog on short notice, and we got that. We also accidentally left our car unlocked while unloading baggage, and that was lucky! Two vehicles parked near us had windows broken by thieves, while ours was only rummaged through (no cash or guns, which we guess was what they were looking for). The next morning, we spoke to a groundskeeper who saw the damage, and said that it has happened before, but the management has resisted hiring a security guard. We were parked on the side of the parking lot facing a busy street. If you stay here, park as far away from the street as possible.

Can't have nice things

The staff here were friendly and helpful, and the check-in process with a dog was in accord with their stated policy.

However, apparently, requesting a "dog-friendly" room means you get the most worn-out, beat-to-crap furniture. The desk chair and armchair were utterly decrepit, with the surface of the vinyl mostly worn away. The armchair had a cover that partially hid its poor condition, so clearly someone made the decision to cover it up rather than replace it. These items were ready for the landfill, because they would not have sold at a yard sale at any price.

I didn't request a room change because it was a 1-night stay and I arrived late at night, worn out from driving. If it were a longer stay, I definitely would have complained. I expect much better from Candlewood Suites.
