Pros and cons

Kiva Beach

Kiva beach is best accessed by turning on to Heritage and then making an immediate left. Pros: lots of space, cool peninsula. Cons: bit of a walk from the nearest parking lot, no restrooms, no shade, up against a marsh with stagnant water, lake water isn't as inviting as it is at other beaches, lots of branches and plants in the water.

Ok, but know before you go...

3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club

Hotel is nice, but there are a few things to know before you go.

If you stay in the deluxe king room the room smells like a fireplace because each of these rooms has a wood burning fireplace. A lot of people like this and during the winter I may agree, but during the summer that's all you smell when you walk in the room and you more than likely aren't going to be using it.

Also, the hotel has a pool and access to a private beach. However, dogs are not allowed in the pool area or at the private beach and there is a $100 charge if you leave your dog unattended in the room. All of this would have been nice to know before we opted for this hotel.

Pros, the hotel is centrally located to Heavenly village and the state lines. Everything is within walking distance. The rooms seem newly renovated and are nice, they also have a mini fridge which I didnt see that mentioned in the amenities.
