Tough to find
Red Roof Inn & Suites CorbinThe driveway to the motel is very, very poorly marked even using a GPS. Going for a second pass to locate the driveway, I almost mistakenly went onto the I-75 entry ramp. Creeping along the highway, I finally found the driveway on the third pass. The accommodations can be described as spartan. If you have heavy luggage or have trouble climbing stairs, be sure to specify a first floor room as there is no elevator. On a positive note, the room was clean.

Clean room, quiet heater
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Beckley WVMost important was the room was clean. Secondly, the heater didn't keep waking us in the night. (We've been to so many motels were they did.) Our room was spartan, but it did have the necessities. Because of our dog, they did give us a first floor room. That was a nice bonus. The only downside was that the coffee machine in the breakfast area was down for repairs. We were able to utilize the coffee maker in our room though. Overall, we would not hesitate to stay there again.

It all went wrong
Best Western Knoxville Suites - DowntownWe were assigned a room and discovered that it was not cleaned since the last visitor: towels on the floor, beds not made, etc. After complaining, we assigned to another room across the hall. The heater was a bit noisy, but it had been a long drive and we wanted to settle in. Around 2AM we discovered that the heater had quit and the room was frigid. I dressed and went to let the staff know. The clerk advised to unplug the unit, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. I did this to no avail. We were assigned to a third room in the wee hours of the morning. We’ll never go back to that place!
