Fine, but not great
John Stiff Memorial Dog ParkThis park was mostly dirt and there was a lot of mud. I was driving across the country with my German Shepherd so having to wash his legs was inconvenient. I was a little disappointed that there was very little if any grass because so much of the rest of this park was grass fields, was tempted to just play fetch with my dog in one of the many open grass areas.
Good park
Spike's Desert Dog ParkMuch appreciated dog park, stopped here with my German Shepherd. Okay size with mostly dirt, but had plenty of shade, seating and water.
Good
Mud Island Dog ParkLarge grass field with plenty of shade and seating. There were some holes that had mud but not too bad. Water was turned off. Had a bad experience with an angry woman who hit my German Shepherd, but I can’t blame the park for that.
Pretty good
Dog Park at Rio Grande Triangle ParkLarge, mostly dirt with little turf. Plenty of water. Good place to stop for my German Shepherd to stretch his legs on our road trip. One concern is that the large dogs have to walk through the small dog area (which was definitely not as nice as the large dogs park)
Hidden gem
Winslow Bark ParkTook my adult German Shepherd here to stretch his legs before continuing our road trip. I was skeptical at first because there was very little information about this park, but it was great! We went early so there weren’t any dogs, but it was big and clean.
