I definitely see the potential, especially with this location! I was hoping there would be more to this motel but, so far, this is basically a fresh coat of paint and curtains. Maybe a work in progress? Nothing really special for the pups except they provide a great towel for the dog and there is plenty of room outside for walkies. How about adding a dog washing station? Having said that, the room was clean, although too large and sparsely furnished to be comfortable. The email confirmation and check-in instructions were timely and worked perfectly. There is an AC unit in the window (works but noisy), a TV, a Keurig, a mini fridge, microwave, and a mediocre bed.

This was a pleasant surprise after 3 weeks on the road. Many hotels allow dogs but this place is truly dog friendly! Plenty of space to walk and a "welcome" goody bag for Trixie, a good night's sleep and a delicious breakfast for me. Don't expect frills, though. This is a "just the essentials, please" kind of place with a hip vibe.

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times...usual Marriott rooms and clean interiors with friendly staff. But this hotel is suffering from lack of staff. The pet area was a MESS! No one taking care of the pet area or emptying trash cans. Empty bottles lying around the grass. Our room, though clean, had a lot of damage to it that needed repair. Give this place a pass until they get their act together.

T and I had a great lunch here. She was comfortable on the front patio. The waitress brought her fresh water and all the staff was very friendly. From my human perspective the shrimp, salad and beer was fresh and well prepared.

The Clark Store turns out to be a great place to get a bite to eat or a cup of coffee. There were tables outside off to the side of the deck. We were in the shade and had a lovely view. Definitely worth a stop. Store is also well stocked with all sorts of things including basic groceries.

Dogs must wait on the other side of the fence and the patio is built up so not easy to manage. There are picnic tables closer to the river for carry out. That would be a much better option. Order food to go then you and your pup can sit side by side.

Trixie and I enjoyed our stop at Houska Dog Park. It is a large, completely fenced area with shade, picnic tables, and bathrooms for humans. Water was available when we were there, too. As we are road tripping, I loved how easy it was to get to - right off the highway.
