Unethical Hotel
Comfort Inn Fountain Hills - ScottsdaleWe booked a room here and paid and were confirmed like usual. The day we were to arrive we got a Voicemail from BringFido that the hotel called and said they were out of Queen pet friendly rooms and we could go into a King for $10 more. We called BringFido to confirm this would be ok, and they called the hotel and confirmed the room was still available and would be $10 more.
When we arrived at the hotel I went to check in and pay the $20 dog fee and $10 extra for King room. They charged almost $35 more on top of that. More for the dog fee and the rest for the room. They said “Don’t use third parties, they always get it wrong. Call direct.” I reminded the lady a number of times that BringFido spoke to them twice and confirmed the price.
The parking lot was nearly empty all night long. It was obvious there were plenty of rooms. We also checked the website that evening and there were Queen pet friendly rooms still available. Typical Bait-and-Switch tactic, total scam. We reported to BringFido and they said they will reimburse us per their policy. We will not be using this hotel in the future.
Decent stay
Super 8 by Wyndham Van HornWe stayed at this hotel on our drive west. We needed a place to sleep and we got a decent sleep. The hotel is older and needs some TLC. The rooms appeared fairly clean with the exception of a VERY dirty cloth chair in our room that had seen much better days. The tub/shower was very new. The breakfast was minimal. There is a lot of black top and dirt, limited places to walk our dog. We were put in a non smoking room at our request, but it smelled terribly of smoke. They were very quick to switch us to another room.
Nice place to stay
Super 8 by Wyndham Dumas TXGood location and plenty of room to walk our dog. Friendly staff. Room was very clean. The carpet did have an odor but probably due to being a dog friendly room. We would stay there again.
Nice place to overnight
Retro Inn at Mesa VerdeA fun little retro motel. We enjoyed our stay there. Motel clerk was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice grassy area in the middle for people and dogs to enjoy.
Overall
Motel 6-Globe AZRoom was large and seemed fairly clean. The smoke detector was wrapped in plastic.
Bathroom was clean on first glance however there was hair stuck to the shower walls, holes in the wall where the shower rod has been replaced. Also a moldy looking large patch between bathtub and door. One of the clean bath towels had a huge wad of hair stuck to it.
There is a big grassy area to walk your dogs. Bring your own bags.
Nice room with some issues
Timberlodge InnThe Timberlodge Inn is an old motel which we knew. The room we had was nicely remodeled with a pine theme and granite countertop, spacious and clean. We had the kitchenette unit which was good as that side of the room was the only place we could plug in our laptop with a 3 prong outlet. The bed was very nice looking, however it was very wobbly. It swayed with the slightest movement. We thought it would fall apart during the night. The fitted sheet kept falling off during the night. The curtains barely covered the one window. The other was too long for the noisy heater. The TV had minimal volume. There are people living on site it looked like and they were talking outside our room and playing music until around midnight. Made it hard to sleep. There are a lot of dogs running loose on the property and not picked up after. Don’t think we will stay there again.
Check-in/room review
Best Western Deming Southwest InnUpon check-in they said BringFido did not request a dog friendly room for us even though we had confirmation. The clerk was friendly and got us checked into a non dog room. The room was clean but in need of some maintenance/repairs. Some lights were not working or flickering on and off, broken outlet cover and bathroom door frame in need of touch up paint. We would stay there again.
Room not smoke free
Days Inn by Wyndham San AngeloFriendly check in. Requested non smoking room. It was very smokey smelling and attempted cover up with freshener. Had to leave door open and bathroom fan running to make it tolerable. Older hotel, rooms were clean.
Overall
Quality Inn DemingStaff were very friendly. Dogs got a welcome letter and treats on check in. Dog walking area was very nice. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was grab and go. Frozen and you microwave in your room. It was actually very tasty.
Overall review
Fort Davis Inn & RV ParkFirst there was no place for the dogs to go potty. There were stickers everywhere. Everything else was black top. There was trash all over the property behind the motel. Room was fairly clean but looked like it was in the middle of a remodel. One wall partially painted, others not and were scratched and marked up. Looked like mostly new furniture but they kept a very dirty side chair. There was a water stain with mold on the ceiling. Breakfast was very low cost. Milk was in a big jug and tasted like powdered. It was a quiet location but needs much improvement.
Pleasantly surprised
Econo Lodge SocorroStaff were very friendly. Room was large, very clean and nicely updated. Dog walking area was the oversized gravel parking area. Plenty of room to walk Fido. Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast.
