Awesome find!
Little Cabin Sandwich Shop Inc.After hiking at nearby FDR park, this was a great stop. Excellent bowls and sandwiches. Cozy little table in the corner with an umbrella on this sunny day. Someone is dog tired!
Great experience!
West Virginia PenitentiaryWe were so happy to find a tour that was pet-friendly! Rugby enjoyed the visit almost as much as we did, and we even took photos of him with his prison number (front and side views) at the end.
Identity Crisis?
Comfort Inn & SuitesLooks like there's a lot of renovation going on here so the outside wasn't terribly inviting, but the room was clean enough and the breakfast adequate. This was the last of the hotels we stayed at over the week, and probably our least favorite. Maybe we were just tired of hotel living by then!
Roomy with all the amenities
Candlewood Suites St Clairsville an IHG HotelIt's not always easy to find a suite that takes dogs, so we were very happy to see that this one did. We had a full-size refrigerator/freezer, which we really appreciated since Rugby has special needs (epilepsy) so we have to bring food and ice packs along with us. Wish we'd planned on spending more than one night here, but alas, we had to leave the next morning.
Good central location
Holiday Inn Express Springfield an IHG HotelWe had planned to spend just two nights here but decided on three when we saw how much was nearby. Our only complaints were that the mini-fridge had no freezer compartment, so we had to use bags of ice for our cooler and couldn't keep Rugby's ice packs frozen (he has epilepsy and we need them for cooling down after seizures). Also, the ice maker on our floor wasn't working so every morning we had to go upstairs to get ice. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly, breakfast was good and we enjoyed our stay.
Very pet friendly
Best Western Circus City InnWe were greeted by the desk clerk with a milkbone. At first we were disappointed that we got a second floor room, But it turned out we had somehow been assigned to the honeymoon suite! Rugby is getting used to elevators!
Always a fun experience
Bear's Smokehouse BarbecueWe’ve come here twice with Rugby and have had a great time on both occasions. Plenty of seating options and good food. A little confusing to order for first time visitors and the “dinner music” was a bit overwhelming. But it didn’t phase Rugby at all! Will definitely make this a regular visit.
Great stay!
Hampton Inn & Suites AnnapolisWe enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites. Plenty of space for Rugby to spread out in the room, and everything was clean and efficient. We were a bit surprised that we were given a second-floor room, but fortunately urgency is not a problem for him! Our biggest issue was finding good pet-friendly restaurants in the area, especially ones that took reservations for the patio.
Peak weekend
Best Western Plymouth Inn-White MountainsThis was our first hotel visit since Covid so we were a little unsure of what to expect. The hotel was clean and they happily accommodated us with a room on the first floor not far from the exit. There was a big fenced in area for the dogs to play and picnic benches and a fire pit out front. Room was larger than most similar hotels. Bagged breakfast was a good solution to the lack of buffet capabilities. Location was central to the hikes we wanted to do, near the highway and many good restaurants. We opted not to get housekeeping our second day to avoid additional contact so they were very accommodating with the items we needed to grab at the front desk. We would choose this location again.
Terrific home away from home
Sonesta Simply Suites Parsippany Morris PlainsThis was our first time staying at the candlewood suites. We really enjoyed having a kitchen area and a full refrigerator. They had treats for the dog at the desk. Only a $15 pet fee. Nice dog walking area and an outside spot to sit down and have a picnic if we want it. We were hesitant because there was no breakfast included, but they had anything we needed available at the store on premises. We would definitely consider staying at the candlewood suites again in the future.
Our go-to hotel in the Albany area
La Quinta by Wyndham Latham Albany AirportThis is our third stay at the La Quinta Inn. It is a reliable, clean hotel. They always place us on the main floor near the exit for easy access to the dog walking area. Our room had a Pergo floor for easy cleanup, though we ended up arranging some blankets on the floor to make a comfy area for the dog to snuggle at night. Pet fee is now $20/night, still not too bad (used to be free till the chain changed owners).
