Decent park.
Whitney Dog ParkMy only complaint is that when I was there another dog owner tried to convince me that I was doing it wrong. I had my dog on her leash while I verified all the other dogs and their manners in case something might be off. While she was telling me I should take my dog off her leash, her dog started abusing my dog. I had to get between them and bat hers away before she did anything about it.

No shade but still decent.
Jaycees Dog ParkTechnically there is shade in one location, over the table that is there for you to be able to sit at, but that is it. I would say it is not a huge play area, but it was decent for socialization. The other owners with dogs there at the time all seemed pretty good about their dogs and their manners.

Not bad but be cautious.
Wilson Park Off Leash Pet Exercise AreaI was there on a day after a big rain. It was misty. I agree you need to be careful about the fence, but if you are not keeping an eye on your pupper then you should not be in such a place anyways. My concern is that there were a number of muddy puddles in the grass, not a huge deal, but I did see a small dig out. I made sure my dog stayed away from those but the were not easy to see in the grass. I only saw it as I was following my dog. It would be really easy if a dog stuck their paw in it to do damage. Probably not big enough to be an issue for larger dogs though.
