Great spot to chill with the dog
LTS Brewing Companythe patio is great to relax with the dog. the beer and food options are great.
Fully fenced
Jean & Carl Frank Canine ParkDespite what past reviews say, this park is now fully fenced so dogs can roam off-leash without going into the creek. It is pretty big with a wooded area, some obstacles for the dogs and at least one table/bench for people. The ground is bark with some exposed dirt so be prepared for dirty dogs. It’s still fun for dogs who want to play and was very busy.
Great park! 3 huge areas to play
River Road Dog ParkThis park is great! it offers 3 extra large fenced areas for dogs to play - each at least 3 acres. One has obstacles. They all have benches for people. Everyone is friendly and considerate. It is clean and well maintained. There is no running water, so bring some! This is really a great place for a dog to socialize and get some exercise.
Great food and drinks
Little Thistle Brewingthe patio is nice for relaxing with plenty of shade for the dog. there weren’t a lot of food options for the dog, but we brought something for him.
Great place to stop
Dog Park at Family ParkThis is a great place to stop and let the dog stretch his legs during a long drive. it’s pretty big and well maintained. It was pretty busy, but everyone played well together. There are shaded benches for people plus obstacles and water for the dogs.
Great travel stop
Softball Complex Dog ParkThis park makes great use of that unused ballpark space. Its not a huge park, but allows for a great place for dogs to stretch their legs during a long drive. It is pretty convenient to get to off I-90. There isn’t shade or water. It is mostly clean, people seem to try to clean up after their dogs. Definitely worth the stop!
Amazing place!
Centennial Dog ParkThis is such a great park! it must be over 3 acres for the big dog area. Fully fenced with a nice bark path and shaded benches all around it.
Others were very respectful. dogs and owners alike had a great time. Everyone seemed to pick up after their dogs and bring water to share (I don’t recall seeing water on-site, we didn’t make it to the main entrance).
This was a great place to stop during a long drive.
Good place for exercise
Custer Bark ParkAfter a long drive this is a good no-frills park. it’s a good size to play ball and run around for a little while off-leash.
Lots of grass for Fido
Staybridge Suites Rapid City - Rushmore an IHG HotelThe pet fee is more that other hotels ($75), this location has a lot of grass around it, even the designated pet area is nicer than most. They offer milk bones and a packet of poop bags at check in, which is a nice touch. The rooms are nice, too. There are shops and restaurants very close.
