Great Place & Dog Friendly

Teddy's by the Sea

Found this little gem on BringFido. Has a great patio and people definitely bring their dogs to this spot. The staff is really good about creating some separation so that you don't end up in a corner with a bunch of other dogs.

We came during happy hour, so enjoyed some apps and drink specials. I ordered a season-less ground beef patty for our dog, Sailor. The patty was surprisingly thick and juicy. Need I even say that he polished it off?!

This is a local spot, so you'll be competing with other tourists and locals for a spot. They may take reservations, but considering we were there on a Friday at 5 pm, it wasn't bad.

Highly recommend this spot!

Awesome!

Jack's Bistro & Famous Bagels

OMG... we almost didn't see this spot, but so glad we did. Great little patio area with tables and picnic benches.

Portions are large, so shareable. Real OJ, good coffee and they even scrambled a couple of eggs (no seasoning) for Sailor, our boxer.

They're famous for their bagels, and let me tell you those bagels are good.

The service was friendly, efficient and quick. A good place for breakfast or lunch. Recommend.

Just OK

Solvang Brewing Company

There is an outdoor area, which is quite large. The property could use a good cleaning and a little TLC. It's on the main drag, so lot of people can see it. A little better upkeep would go along way.

The food is typical brewery food--- pricey for what it is --- no major complaints, but nothing to rave about.

The only thing that makes it dog friendly is the outside area. They don't actually cater to dogs, which we didn't really require, but mentioning in case that's important to you.

There are better options available if you spend some time looking around.

Awesome Spot

Corktree Cellars Wine Bar and Bistro

Went here with our boxer, Sailor, to enjoy a couple glasses of wine and a charcuterie board. The service was great and we really enjoyed our snack. This is a very lovely restaurant and was the perfect shady spot and dog friendly. They immediately filled Sailor's bowl with fresh water. Would highly recommend a stop here.

Typical Run Down Motel 6

Motel 6 Carpinteria CA - Santa Barbara - South

I had really hoped for more, given that this is a touristy location. The exterior is good, in that there is a grassy area for your dog to relieve him/herself. The rooms were "mostly" clean. There are no amenities, unless you count a TV with no channel guide. The towels are small, and few. The microwave took forever to heat up a small amount of food. There was NO water pressure at all. The mattresses are old, thin and feel cheap. There is no box spring. It actually sits on a piece of pressed board. After a long road trip, this was really underwhelming, especially considering the room cost was $217. At that price, I would expect more, even from Motel 6. Overall, if you're beat and you need to rest, it will suffice. There are many restaurant options around.

Awesome Room

Royal Copenhagen Inn

This place really checked all the boxes and actually had a few pleasant surprises. Room was super clean and updated. The best was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. There was no carpet... yay! The room was nice and large, which is especially great when traveling with pets. Check-in was smooth and the staff was friendly. To our our surprise, they will deliver a complimentary continental breakfast to your room with a choice of local Danish pastries, yogurt, coffee and juice. The front desk gave us a corkscrew, which we got to keep. There are 2 areas for dogs. The Secret Garden, is really like a little secret garden. A huge grassy area surrounded with fruit trees. It's really lovely. There is a small rocky area on the other side of property, as well. The pet fee was only $25/night, which is great compared to many other properties in the area. Whether we return with our dog or not, we will be back for sure.

Awesome Experience

Ragged Point Inn and Resort

We brought both our GSD and Boxer for a 3-day stay! It was a great experience all around. The rooms are nice and spacious, so it made it even more comfortable for all of us. There was plenty of grassy area for them to relive themselves. The property is absolutely beautiful. They offer outside heated dining, which made it possible for us to take a our fur babies with us. On a side note, we drove to Cambria a couple of times and had a great meal at Robin's, a dog friendly restaurant. he entire town is dog friendly, so we would definitely recommend a stop there.

Great Location + Super Clean

Deer Haven Inn

Perfect! This Inn is very clean and quaint. There are fireplaces in every room, which is a nice touch. We loved the crisp white cotton bedding. I rarely drink the coffee provided, but I'm glad I enjoyed it at Deer Haven... it was robust and tasty. Usually I find the coffee in these places to be very weak and flavorless.

Most importantly, our 70 lb Boxer dog, Sailor, loved the location. The room was nice and roomy which gave him plenty of space to stretch out after our very long drive. Our only complaint and the reason we didn't give "5 Bones", there is no designated pet area on the property. This would have been nice for Sailor's 2 am potty time. Walked behind the building only to find construction debris, trash and broken glass. That was definitely disappointing since the inn was perfect in every other way. That said, the neighborhood is fantastic and there are lots of places to walk.

The front desk staff, including housekeeping, were very friendly. It would be nice if they provided a list of pet-friendly restaurants in the area at check in, but not a big deal... there's BringFido for that!
