Friendly to Dogs

Sonesta Select Pleasant Hill

Overall, a comfy and hassle free stay. The staff are nice to dogs and seem to want them there. Spacious rooms and dog treats and water bowl in the lobby. They also have a nice human water bottle station in the gym where you can fill up bottles. The downsides are that while friendly, the staff doesn't really go out of their way to make sure you have what you need and the rooms and property could be a little cleaner. Like we were missing a do not disturb sign, had to go to desk to get it, there wasn't hot water for tea, but upon asking, the staff member took my cup and got some from the espresso maker, reg and decaf coffee were available, but not labeled, so had to ask which was which, just little things like that. The Internet connection was mediocre. The property had lots of cigarette butts and a gross dog area and a nice dog area with green grass. Shower had some mildew and there was some dust in the room. But bed was very comfy and nice space to eat, work, stretch out, etc. Good blackout curtains. Easy access to freeway and lots of good shops and restaurants nearby. Would stay here again.

Wonderful Staff and Location

Homewood Suites by Hilton Henderson South Las Vegas

Great spot far enough from the strip to have a chill time with your dog, but still close enough to visit easily. The staff was so friendly to us and our pooch. They have free bottles of cold water for all guests, which was awesome in the hot weather. Easy to walk to a variety of restaurants and late night spots. Room was very comfy with nice appliances in the kitchen area and a huge bathtub. Lots of dogs staying there, super pet friendly and accommodating. Nearby walking path/bike trail was lovely. Downsides we're, trim coming off of the wall, not much for vegans at breakfast, fire alarm in the middle of the night (it happens). A really pleasant place to stay overall for humans and dogs alike. Really feels like they love dogs.

Needs an Upgrade, but lovely staff

Best Western Desert Winds

2 bones because the staff was wonderful and very welcoming to us and our pooch. They even upgraded us to a nice corner suite. The property is a little bit rundown, in a really industrial area. There is a loud train at night, but the front desk has a huge bowl of packets of ear plugs, which is very cool. Not much space to walk a dog at all. To was clean, but we did see a lone cockroach. Dated furniture and appliances. Very dim lights. Loud guests with loud trucks at night. Super quiet and peaceful in the morning. Overall, it was ok for a quick stay on a road trip, but the place needs a bit of an upgrade to match the price.

DO NOT STAY HERE

Red Roof Inn Dallas - Mesquite/ Fair Park NE

We are not fussy travelers, but this was so sketchy I feel compelled to warn others. Booked this hotel for a week long stay to visit family. Upon arrival, we noticed that it was well lit and clean looking, but no cars. As we circled around the other side, it was dimly lit and lots of cars, and a super trashy parking lot. We went to check in and noticed a hand written sign that said hotel guests cannot have visitors. The woman working the front desk was very rude. We asked if we could have a lower level room on the well lit clean side, and she told us it was not available (all the rooms appeared vacant). We went to our room with our dog. He is super well-traveled and loves hotels. He would barely go with us up the stairs to the room.

When we got to the room and went inside, he got super spooked and ran for the door. We have never seen him act that way. We looked around the room and saw that the bed comforter was filthy. There was a layer of grime on the vent for the heater/air conditioner, and overall just really gross conditions. Our dog pulled us out of the room. We left immediately and went to the desk to get a refund. They were very hesitant to refund us and offered us a 'cleaner' room. We were so put off by the whole thing that we just left. We were able to get a refund however. They made us pay for 1 night. Leaving one star because it is affordable, but I would recommend you stay elsewhere.

Super Dog Friendly

Excalibur Hotel & Casino

After looking at many hotels, we chose to stay here on a quick overnight trip through Vegas. The pet fee was somewhat steep ($50) but cheaper than some that were charging $100. The hotel has a nice but small pet area with fake grass and generally a nice outdoor zone to walk. Everyone in the casino and hotel was super nice to us and our dog. They definitely seem to like dogs there. There is also a Starbucks so you can get a puppucino for your pooch. Downside is that parking is a long walk if you have all your stuff and dog stuff and your dog on a leash, lots to juggle at once. Also takes a bit to get up and down elevator in high rise hotel, then walking through the casino a bit to go on dog walks. But this is true for much of Vegas. Overall a good choice though.

Friendly and Fenced in Dog Park

La Quinta by Wyndham Gallup

Simple but nice and clean little hotel in Gallup. Overall, just a pleasant stay, but was so happy with the small fenced in dog area. We were able to close the gate and let our pooch frolic off leash for a bit. Definitely a perk and would stay again.

Super Dog Friendly

Quality Inn Deming

When we checked into the hotel, after saying we had a dog, the person at the desk said, "Love them and want them here." That was so nice and welcoming. Very good and sweet staff and nice that we could back our car up to our room. Everything was basic, but fine. Only issue was a weird wet spot on the carpet when we arrived that looked like someone's soda exploded. We told the front desk immediately so they would not think it was from our dog. They offered us a different room, but it wasn't a big deal. The next day at CK out I head them ordering a carpet shampoo for after we checked out. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful Stay

Yavapai Lodge

Such a cute hotel, our pup loved the room and watching deer from the pretty window area. Nice and modern upgrades to an older style hotel. Feels like simple elegance. Clean and comfy with a nice coffee maker and cruelty free toiletries. Perfect location of course. Only issue was thin walls and neighbors were partying late into the night. Would definitely come back.

Clean room, lacking outside

La Quinta by Wyndham Lubbock South

The hotel seems newer and it's very clean inside. The outside area however is not very well maintained. There are no trash cans for poop bags, so people have just piled them all over outside. We had to bring ours inside and put in the bin in our room. Also, upon CK in, I asked where the pet area was and the reception staff said they hadn't been to it. Needs a bit of work to make dogs a priority. The breakfast was super nice though, including breakfast potatoes which seems rare. Also, the hotel is in a strange intersection that can be challenging to navigate. Would stay again if in the area.
