A Solid 3

Best Western Vicksburg

It’s close to many restaurants and the front desk person was very nice and helpful. Clean and no smell of dogs. There’s convenient green space too. No bags for dog waste so bring your own. Please clean up after your dogs, it’s not the hotel’s responsibility. And if your dog is tiny, it still counts! The bummer was a couple left their 2 dogs alone in the room and they barked the entire time. Many guests were disturbed and had to relocate elsewhere in the hotel. We would stay here again.

We Really Dug This Place

Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven

Remember y’all, if you have a small dog or a big dog, it’s your responsibility to clean up after your pet at these hotels/motels, not theirs. And in this case, this cute little old school motel, is on Route 66, is nothing fancy but for a place to crash with your dog for a night or two, it’s perfect. There’s a green space in the back but it lacks bags and a garbage. But pick up your dogs poop and dispose of it anyway! The rooms are small and have the essentials. The staff was very nice. We’ll stay here again.

We’d stay again

La Quinta by Wyndham Shreveport Airport

Hey, if you have a dog and are staying at a dog friendly hotel, it’s not the hotel’s responsibility to pick up your dog’s poop, it’s yours even if your dog is super small and you think it’s not a big deal. A refreshed hotel with helpful staff and well cleaned rooms. There’s good green space close along with retail for gas, groceries and a few chain restaurants to grab some food. Convenient and a decent stop.

Run down hotel

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Chattanooga-Lookout Mountain

The staff is very nice. There’s convenient parking and some decent grassy areas for pet relief where either the staff or responsible pet owners actually clean up after their dogs. The hotel looks lovely but only if you don’t look closely. Major spots and stains in the hallways, wall damage, yucky smells, scrapes and heavy usage signs throughout. Our first non-smoking room on the second floor smelled of smoke and the door had to be opened turning the handle up rather than down. Apparently there’s a few like that in the hotel that they tolerate and don’t fix. Not a big deal, but another sign of low quality standards. Room cleanliness is also low especially in the shower. Corner shower shelves originally secured via caulk only fell off and any repairs have 2” of bad caulk as well. Overall it looks cute from afar and they accept dogs, but it’s a mess. We wouldn’t stay here again unless it was our only option.

Yeesh

Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center an IHG Hotel

Let’s just say they’re a little late in refreshing the rooms by about 25 yrs and they should’ve paid us to stay in the dog-friendly room assigned to us on the 3rd floor. Innumerable reasons to never visit this property again. Yuck!

It’s Got Some Moxy

Moxy Chattanooga Downtown

The Moxy has a friendly staff that’s welcoming to dogs. There’s a patch of green space (hard to find in most urban settings) for our 60 lb girl in the back parking lot. That said, it’s a formulaic hipster lower-end trendy boutique hotel. $100 pet fee so the overall price jumped up quite a bit. the room was pretty tiny. We would’ve been better off staying at a more posh place for the total spent or gone with a cheaper hotel for more room. The windows don’t do much for sound mitigation from the outside. We’d stay here again in a pinch but will definitely do a more thorough hotel cost comparison next time we’re in Chatt.

Really Cool Place

Virgin Hotels New Orleans

Loved the hotel and the location but no green space for our 60 lb girl doggo which made it not dog friendly enough for for a repeat stay.

Would Stay Here Again

Holiday Inn Blytheville an IHG Hotel

We did an overnight here as part of a drive across the country. We have a big Sheepadoodle who likes to run and needs space. Our room was on the first floor close to an exit. Key for potty breaks. The room was decent and quiet for the most part. The big negative was the loudness of the AC unit. It was like a jet engine. If you like loud white noise that’s a good thing. It also worked great at drowning out other noises that our dog would’ve heard and barked at so that’s a plus. We had a hard time sleeping because of it. Sure we could’ve requested another room but we just didn’t want the hassle.

What was great was the natural grass areas, an open lot close by to let our dog run and no dog poop anywhere. Everywhere else we’ve stayed there’s always dog poop - left by pet owners - and the hotel leaves it as well. There was none here which made it remarkable and spoke to the level of care they take in the property. It’s a 2-3 star hotel that does a nice job for pet owners.

Wish It Worked Better For Us

Best Western Mission Inn

We received a call from them letting us know they only had upper rooms available and no elevator. That worked for us but not having an elevator could be an issue for others. The call was considerate and appreciated. Overall the property itself is old school and its location isn’t by anything desirable to walk to. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Cleanliness at a place like this is key for us. Our room was recently updated and it showed. The old elements still exist so the doors, walls and windows don’t mitigate sound transfer from room to room or the outside in.

For that reason it didn’t work for us and our dog. She could hear it all and couldn’t relax so in turn she barked and we didn’t sleep well. That’s a deal breaker on driving trips. There’s also a railroad track nearby which again is louder than preferred. Bottom line, it’s a nice value and a good place to stay for people with pets, however we prefer something a little nicer, quieter and closer to more shops and restaurants. It’s a 2 bone motel/hotel at best, even with the creature comforts, so for that reason the place can’t really be anything more than 3 bones.
