Good location, solid breakfast choices

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Bridgeport

Easy to get to and right off the interstate, solid breakfast choices, decent/modern rooms, but loud elevator noises and smaller grass areas (there was a large adjacent field but it looks like it will be developed soon). ‘Average’ comfort on the bed, pillows, linens.

Nice accommodations, small dog area

The Hayes Street Hotel Nashville

Pros: dog friendly, nice accommodations, nice staff, bar on site. Cons: *really* small dog area (but there are more grassy areas across the sleepy street in front of businesses), valet parking @ $40/night (but again, street is sleepy, so park yourself), breakfast was all pre-packaged. Decent stay but kind of expensive for what it was. Try to park on the street vs use the valet to help save some money. The area felt secure and safe, the king room was big, lighting in the bathroom was ‘meh,’ and breakfast left a bit to be desired. Nashville has some great dog parks though; we went to the one at the Gulch which has free parking nearby for the first hour, benches outside of the play area, and insanely cute murals with locals coming and going about the day. It also has a big and little dog park.

Decent grassy areas, friendly staff

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston - Westchase

The room was a bit ‘rough’ with signs that other dog owners might not have been the most attentive to their dogs (chewing signs on some furniture, rug snags, etc) but the staff was super accommodating and friendly. There were lots of grassy areas to walk, and breakfast offerings were pretty decent. Beds, pillows, and linens were comfortable.

One of the nicest places on our long road trip

Capital Plaza Hotel

The only ‘negatives’ to this hotel was that there wasn’t any ground floor rooms & (because of their multi-night stay covid policies) trash and towels were in the hallway. Easy location, parking garage, elevators that moved pretty quickly, pool that’s open from 7am-11pm daily, a hot breakfast with SO MANY OPTIONS, and…. A HUGE FIELD for the pups to be walked in right behind the hotel. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again and it’s very close to the Buffalo Trace Distillery (which is also dog friendly)!
