Don't Go
Days Inn by Wyndham ChieflandWe appreciate pet friendly hotels and try to be supportive. But this was awful. Extreme smell of cleaning fluid. We opened door to try and air out but woke up at midnight and almost left. Two towels may have been washed but looked soiled. Floor was carpeted and had major stain. The toilet seat was broken. No stopper in sink and partially plugged. Side chair & ottoman were filthy. What breakfast? Make your own waffles, pop tarts and packaged cheese crackers. Nothing else. OK. One good thing: Really strong WiFi. It was in a convenient location with a variety of restaurants. Such potential to be a great stop but.. .no bueno.
Across from Shopping
SureStay Plus by Best Western CovingtonEasy access from hwy. Helpful staff. Several small green areas to walk pups. Very convenient to good restaurants (especially "Dakota"). Shopping Center across street. Wish bathroom and floors a little cleaner but a good overnight nonetheless.
Acceptable for Overnight
Days Inn by Wyndham Fort StocktonArrived later in evening and was given an upstairs room. But easy access to stairs and yard for pups. Only challenge was the door lock. Had to get it recorded several times to work. A little outdated. Staff was very helpful though.
Indoor Hallway
Quality Inn Crestview Near Eglin AFBLarge room and very quiet AC. Bushes outside window added to privacy. Good WiFi. We tried a handicap access room and appreciated the large bathroom. The shower seat was old and needed good cleaning and the curtain was a bit short.
Sorta 2.5 Bones
Quality Inn DemingFirst the good: Easy on/off from Hwy. Nice size room. Big dog friendly area. Inexpensive and no extra fee for 2 dogs. Staff were really trying to provide good service. The not-so-great: Facility is old and not the cleanest. There was a big stain on the ottoman. Our door handle came off inside. And safety lock was askew and couldn't be used. The room phone wouldn't connect to the Front Desk or Room Service. And when we used the cell phone to call, the system repeatedly (7 times!) disconnected. Housekeeping put in a temporary fix for the door handle but in the morning, the key card wouldn't let us back into the room. Hopefully other rooms didn't have such deferred maintenance.
Fun Stay
Best Western Space Age LodgeRooms looked recently remodeled and were very clean. Free breakfast was sit down at the restaurant and, although a limited menu, nicely done The Star Trek theme made for a fun overnight stay.
