Pleasantly surprised
PetroStay Inn & Suites CotullaThis was a great value. The staff was helpful and friendly, the place was clean and comfortable, and they were nice to our dogs. We stayed here in preparation to cross the border to Mexico the following day; I recommend it!

Kind of raggedy
La Quinta by Wyndham Houston NW BrookhollowPet friendly, yes. But in our room, the toilet didn't flush completely, the toilet seat refused to stay up and fell down onto your back when sitting on it. La Quinta is not high-end and so we didn't have high expectations, but a functioning toilet that doesn't gross a person out is kind of baseline.

Basic, dog friendly
Red Roof Inn Roanoke RapidsWe should have requested a first floor room, as the stairs were a lot with the dogs and luggage. Otherwise, fine.
