Cool Creek Park Nature Center Leashed dogs are allowed at Cool Creek Park Nature Center, a pet-friendly park in Carmel, IN. This natural-science center offers seasonal and educational exhibits on habitat preservation and local wildlife. Potato Creek State Park Fido is welcome at Potato Creek State Park in North Liberty, IN. This popular dog-friendly park is home to the 327-acre Worster Lake, mature woodlands, restored prairies, and wetlands that are all ideal for a day trip with your pooch. If you are looking to explore all the nooks and crannies of the park, you can use the nine trails that weave around the diverse landscape. The longest is a 6.6-mile mountain bike trail that allows hikers to walk safely in the opposite direction of mountain bikers. Shades State Park Shades State Park in Waveland, IN is dog friendly. Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy this peaceful paradise which offers great views of sandstone cliffs around Sugar Creek. The 11 trails vary between extremely rugged pathways through ravines and uplands to easy strolls around ponds. Only you and Fido can decide what you'd prefer to attempt, but whichever you do, the views will be worth it in the end. Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill is pet-friendly. This rugged preserve is one square mile in size and protects a forest, as well as the wildlife that lives within it. The entire loop trail and gravel road total 6 miles. Leashed dogs are welcome, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. Laura Hare Nature Preserve at Downey Hill is open every day of the week from dawn until dusk. See Details
Eagle Creek Park Eagle Creek Park is a pet-friendly park devoted entirely to nature in Indianapolis, IN. The park encompasses 1,400 acres of water and 3,900 acres of forest, and leashed dogs are welcome to join you to explore numerous hiking trails. Patoka Lake Patoka Lake is an 8,800-acre pet-friendly lake in French Lick, IN. You and Fido are welcome to enjoy the hiking trails around the lake, including the rugged main trail that loops around the lake and up to Totem Rock, a large rock shelter that was used by Native Americans and early settlers. For an easier trail, the Garden Rock Loop Trail will take you to ferns, by rocky overhangs, and through pines. Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area Dogs are welcome at Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area in Rockville, IN where forest and rocky outcrops line the banks of Big Raccoon Creek. The lake is hugely popular among recreational boat users and anglers, but Fido can also join you on dry land to explore the interesting surroundings of the lake on the pet-friendly trails that vary in difficulty and length from 0.8 miles to 2.1 miles.
