Bark on the Ark
Bring your dog for a socially distanced Bark on the Ark eco-cruise along Naples Bay to Keewaydin Island. On the island, Fido will have plenty of time to play on the beach. Water, tennis balls, healthy dog treats, and waste bags are included for canine guests. Pet parents should bring towels and a small cooler bag for drinks and snacks. Advance reservations are required for the three-hour tour, which sets sail on March 20, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. Pricing is $49 per person, which includes one dog per ticket. Only one pup per cruiser is permitted.
Dog Days at Elmwood Park Zoo
Elmwood Park Zoo is throwing dog lovers a bone this spring with its new Dog Days event, when you can bring Fido to the zoo. There are a limited number of spots for dogs, so sign up, complete the application, and upload your pup’s veterinary records on the zoo's website today. Dog Days will take place on March 10, 12, 24, and 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $12.95 for humans and $10.95 for dogs.
Paint and Sip Pet Portrait Fun at Barking Dog
Enjoy a fun evening in the city at the dog-friendly Barking Dog restaurant while you paint a portrait of your pup. Make plans now to get out and enjoy the fresh air in a heated outdoor area, savor a fine meal and drinks with Fido, and flex your artistic skills. No prior experience is required; your canvas will already have your dog’s picture drawn on it, so all you have to do is paint! Paint and Sip Pet Portrait Fun at Barking Dog will take place in March on weekday evenings at 5 p.m. The cost is $65 and includes the artwork, which you can take home. You’ll also be required to purchase a meal or beverage while you paint.
North Forest Lights at Crystal Bridges
Stroll under the stars with your leashed dog as you take an enchanted nighttime walk through the Arkansas woods. North Forest Lights at Crystal Bridges presents five distinct art installations that bring the soul of the forest to life with light, sound, and sensory effects in a captivating, family-friendly experience. Staff and visitors ages 10 and older are required to wear face coverings except when eating or drinking. Masks are available upon entry for those who do not have one. The event will be held at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, which will be operating at limited capacity to ensure social distancing. Operating hours are from Wednesday through Sunday after sunset throughout the month of March. Tickets cost $22 for adults, $7-$10 for kids over 7, and are free for dogs. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
VIRTUAL Annual VCA Walk for the Animals
Presented by VCA Animal Hospitals, the VIRTUAL Annual VCA Walk for the Animals benefits the Humane Society of Broward County. Because the event is virtual this year, you can join in from wherever you live! Simply grab Fido’s leash and take him for a stroll along any 1.25-mile route of your choosing. Registered walkers will also have the opportunity to “pawty” online afterward to celebrate everyone's hard work. The event takes place on March 6, 2021, and there is no fee to register for the fundraiser.
Doodle Romp at Metazoa Brewing Company
Doodle dogs of all kinds gather on the second Sunday of each month for Doodle Romp at Metazoa Brewing Company. The event is held at Metazoa Brewing Co., a craft brewery that boasts a pet-friendly taproom and dog park. Metazoa even donates 5 percent of its profits to animal and wildlife organizations. All Doodle breeds and their furry friends are welcome for an afternoon filled with craft beer and tail-wagging fun, but humans must be 21 years or older to attend. The event takes place on March 14, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
HSGS Pack Walk
Venture to Bonaventure Cemetery (Savannah’s oldest burial grounds that were made famous in “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”) to walk your pup or an adoptable dog from the Humane Society for Greater Savannah during their monthly HSGS Pack Walk. You can sign up online prior to the event if you would like to walk one of their rescue dogs, or show up with your pooch at the cemetery on March 7, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to attend.
Dog Days at Lynden Sculpture Garden
Bring your canine friends for an afternoon of romping in the garden during Dog Days at Lynden Sculpture Garden. If there’s snow on the ground, cross-country skiers and snowshoers are also welcome, and in the warmer months, picnicking is encouraged! Visitors must maintain social distancing guidelines and wear masks. Dog Days are held on the third Saturday of each month. The event will take place on March 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors and kids, and free for Fido.

All finishers will receive a free beer or beverage of their choice, and there will be live music and a food truck. Mask wearing and social distancing protocols will be in place.
