- DianeMay 1, 2024Close to Grand Canyon
We had a first floor room and parked right in front of it. Easy in and out for loading our car and taking our dog out.
- RobNov 27, 2023Pet fee too high
Friendly staff, convenient to Grand Canyon which is where we wanted to spend time, reasonable rate. But that experience was watered down by the $50 pet fee (good for up to two animals, but we only had one small dog). Given the lack of alternatives for price and pet acceptance at other places, we went with this. No regrets, but too costly compared to the usual $0-25 pet fees at most other places we've booked.
- ReddSep 18, 2023Hard to find location
Room was very nice & plenty of space for our Great Dane. Our only complaint is only 1 elevator.
- DanaAug 30, 2023Clean and Comfy!
Large hotel, large room, and very near the entrance to the Grand Canyon. They also have room service.
- BryanJun 23, 2023Pricey but great staff and location
$50 per night for our pet and no breakfast. A bit pricey but the location is great just south of the South Gate of Grand Canyon and staff is very friendly!
- PastorMay 28, 2023Great Location
Nice room 1 mile to Grand Canyon National Park.
- LauraMay 28, 2023Lovely hotel
The hotel was lovely but since you can’t leave a dog unattended in the room, it’s hard to take advantage. The location is great! The area to walk dogs is nice and big. They do charge $50 for a pet, which is the most I paid on our trip from Texas to California.
- NataliaApr 6, 2023Great Location
We were booked into a first floor room (two beds) in the second building with a small patio with a sliding glass door with direct access to the parking lot which made it super convenient for potty access for our doggie and bringing in all our luggage. Also, the floor throughout the room/bathroom was wood/vinyl/tile (not carpet) which made me feel more comfortable in case of accidents. Also, there is a nature trail nearby called "Arizona Trail" that is easy for any doggie and a good potty break spot in the daytime. There is a small astroturf location on the property that is lit for nighttime potty breaks.
- TashiaApr 4, 2023Great pet-friendly find
Pet wise it was great! Food wise- 🤮
- LisaMar 31, 2023Very Disappointed
This hotel didn’t really acknowledge our dog - no welcome goodie bag like other hotels. Really no mention at all. This hotel is pretty outdated. Looks like its heyday was back in the 80’s. The bed was comfortable, but that’s about it. We tried to dine at the on-site restaurant but were given some pushback about dining with our dog. So ridiculous that they didn’t have accommodations for diners with their pets, although they allow pets to stay with guests in their rooms.
They finally made “an exception” and allowed us to dine in the very back of the restaurant. It didn’t matter much in the end because the food there was so terrible. We wound up eating at a nearby Wendy’s for the remainder of our stay. I wouldn’t recommend any pet parents to stay here with their fur babies. If staying in this area to visit the Grand Canyon, you are better off staying in Flagstaff 1 1/2 hours away with better accommodations and pet friendly dining options. The drive will be worth it overall.
- GlenMar 22, 2023Decent accommodations
Our room was good and included a back door access to an area for the dog. But the room did have plumbing issue which the staff promptly tried to fix. Be aware that the pet fee is high.
- JohnMar 20, 2023Great location
Very nice hotel and very dog friendly. Quiet ground floor room close to unfenced dog area.
- RobertJan 17, 2023Nicely located
While there is a large sign for the hotel, the entrance isn't easily located. But, we were able to find it with a bit of glancing around. The room was good, very comfy and nicely appointed. There was a repeated leak from the ceiling that they said was from the bathroom on the floor above us from an overflowed tub. The assigned pet area was a vacant dirt and gravel lot. Really all you need for pets to relieve themselves on I suppose. Nice restaurant. All in all a good experience and if we go back to Grand Canyon we will probably use this location again.
- DestinyJan 10, 2023Absolutely will be coming back
This hotel by far has been the best experience on our cross country trip and we didn’t want to leave! I’m actually so sad we only got to experience one night and will definitely be coming back! We were greeted with doggie bowls and treats, the pet relief area is nice and big. We felt so comfortable and loved the rooms. We enjoyed walking around it’s located in a wonderful part of town and so close to the canyon itself. The staff were excellent and the food at the hotel itself was the best hotel food I’ve ever had, so if you go try the saloon! We had a trailer and there was plenty of trailer parking. Definitely loved it!
- DanDec 4, 2022Everything was great
Cedric and the front desk helped find my reservation at check-in. I appreciate you, Cedric! Everything fell into place from there forward. The room was clean with plush sheets and comfy pillows. My Great Dane and I enjoyed the accommodations after several days in the local backcountry. Do note that the pet fees are not part of your online reservation and will be paid separately to the hotel on arrival.
- TeresaOct 30, 2022It was good for an overnight
The location was great, 5 minutes from the entrance to the south rim. The room was good for an overnight. No designated dog area; we used the designated dog area at the hotel across the street for poop and pee. It was nice parking directly in front of your door. Much easier to load and unload.
- ThomasOct 22, 2022About right
Nothing special, no dog beds, water bowls, or dog treats in room. Dog potty area is a vacant lot behind the hotel.
- JillianOct 8, 2022Comfortable and convenient
Ground floor room near exit door to large field for dog walking. Plenty of trash bins. Treats for doggo on check in.
- MaryOct 5, 2022Convenient location
Pretty old and tired hotel. Could use updating and a good cleaning! Not a great outside area for pups. Just gravel and turf? My dog is fine with gravel luckily b/c there is no grass anywhere. Just a very busy touristy location overall so all hotels are probably about the same!
- MikeAug 8, 2022Cool hotel
This hotel was fabulous.
- MarkJun 27, 2022Nice enough
Not the nicest place but close to the Grand Canyon and probably a bit better than others in the area. Gave us a big bag of treats for our dog upon check in.
- GladysJun 26, 2022Could not have been a better location!
We brought our pups along for a long trip from Texas and were SO pleased to find this hotel! The suites were large enough for both puppies to roam and settle! The lobby is friendly and has a restaurant and bar. the nicest part is that you park right outside your room and unload luggage easily! There were 2 sinks and a fridge and a microwave, which was wonderful for keeping the dog’s food fresh! The proximity to the canyon cannot be beat! 10 minutes and you are there! Will stay again for sure!
- CalebMay 24, 2022Very pet friendly
Really nice rooms with great hotel facilities. The staff was incredibly friendly and they gave us dog/cat treats when we checked in as well as a food bowl. We felt very welcomed with our pets!
- TeresaApr 14, 2022Nice place
There is a little area in back with artificial grass for walking you dogs.
- RichardApr 13, 2022Older hotel but clean
Just outside the south Grand Canyon entrance, so very accessible. Pet friendly staff. Nice pet walking area behind complex. Some disconnect between front desk staff and restaurant/lounge staff regarding allowing pets. Restaurant food just ok.
- MuntanaApr 10, 2022Great location
Nice doggie area.
- AdrianaFeb 21, 2022Not bad
Location is ideal if you want to stay at the close to the Grand Canyon. However, the room was missing the soap, shower gel, and two of the internet password didn’t work.
- KimberleeDec 1, 2021Fabulous staff
Hotel is a bit dated but still a great location. Close to pet friendly restaurants and not far from downtown (which i highly recommend). Love that they had a washer/dryer. Fireplace in room was a bonus and used every minute we were in the room.
- Randy georgeNov 28, 2021Very convenient access to the Park
Hotel in prob 15 mins from the Natl Park entrance. Not a lot of food options (esp vegan cuisine) in the area (Tuyasan). Yavapai Lodge is a great place to grab some coffee. We used the Grand Canyon Kennel for one day. They were very friendly and really took care of our Boy. Get the Annual Interagency Pass to have access to all national parks, national forests, and recreation areas. Lovely time, will be back to the Grand Canyon and utilize this hotel.
- GregoryNov 25, 2021Great Location
Perfect for going to/from the Grand Canyon NP. Room could have been cleaner but with staff shortages who can blame them. The sports bar in the hotel is excellent, best martini I've had in a while.
- CareyOct 14, 2021Great stay, just outside of Grand Canyon
Large, comfortable, clean rooms in hotel located in Tusuyan just outside of Grand Canyon Park. You can park right outside your room, which helps when carting luggage, or getting your dogs settled into the room. There is also a lovely indoor pool and restaurant area, which is dog friendly. We didn’t take our dogs there, but it was nice to have the option to do so. There is a gift shop onsite, for any Grand Canyon trinkets you may want/need. There is also a nice breakfast/lunch restaurant and saloon for dinner. The staff are pleasant, but seemed a little tired by the early starters while we were there (the breakfast restaurant opens at 5am for visitors wanting to get to the Grand Canyon early). Overall, it was a nice stay and good value for money.
- CarolOct 1, 2021Wonderful stay
We were treated very well at this hotel. Comfortable, huge room, wonderful dinner (dog on interior patio), drinks at beautiful interior atrium bar (dog accepted). Overall 10+ visit.
- SherriSep 17, 2021The hotel was great for humans
The dog deposit was wonderful. It was paid for by a third party. That would of cost us $150.00. We were very grateful for this. Also we are very grateful that this hotel even allowed dogs to stay in the hotel. Most in the area did not. BUT we were not allowed to keep our dog in the room without an adult there. We had to take him with us everywhere. We were lucky that the Grand Canyon is very dog friendly. Overall our stay was great.
- MoniqueAug 25, 2021Good for what we needed
This hotel wasn’t the most spectacular looking inside or out, but it suited our needs. Gravel areas in the back of the building worked okay for our dogs. The location was perfect if visiting the Grand Canyon - only minutes down the road.
- GJul 27, 2021Great location 2 miles from Grand Canyon South Entrance
Great location. Pet friendly but no pet waste stations in sight. No artificial turf or patch of grass. Mostly rocks. Walked the pup in the parking lot area mostly.
- GabrielJul 26, 2021$$$
For as high of a cost to stay one night, they should already have the pet fee included!
- TimJun 30, 2021Great but pricey
I loved my room the King size bed the separate sink from the toilet and shower! Dual entry from outside and inside. Field out back for my Doggos go potty! The Air Condition was superb “chef kiss”! Only slights no microwave in the room. The buffet was not open and you can’t bring the food from the restaurant to the room and no room service. Pricey but near the Grand Canyon.
- LeeMay 26, 2021Easy stay
Room on first floor with door close to car.
- PatriciaMay 23, 2021Grand Canyon gem
Clean, super-comfortable room and SO close to the Grand Canyon entrance. Nice area for walking our dog around the neighborhood and lots of restaurant options within walking distance.
- TroyMay 7, 2021Great Value
Spur of the moment decision and glad we did...nice hotel, room was accessible from outside and inside hotel...minutes from Grand Canyon enabled is to experience the South Rim with easy access and what a treat!
- BarbaraApr 23, 2021Wry nice room
Friendly staff, sweet room, and the National Forest is located immediately behind the hotel, dogs loved it
- MelissaApr 4, 2021Last minute help
our hotel canceled our reservation at the last minute due to staffing problems. The plaza took us and our pets at the last minute
- ScottFeb 27, 2021Perfect location
Clean! Everyone that I met working there loved pets
- CyndeeJan 16, 2021Perfect location
Enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room and our pup even got to go to the restaurant with us
- SybilOct 22, 2020Short but sweet
We got in late, and left early, BUT my babies enjoyed their stay!!! Our room had a patio that they and I loved so much! Super convenient considering how short our stay was.. the bed was the most cozy I’ve had yet! Wish we had more time, but there’s always the next trip!!!
- RoxanneOct 6, 2020Beyond Pet Friendly
Hotel has a great location to park entrance. staff is friendly and helpful. beds are average. pillows are hard. rooms are clean if a bit outdated.
I read a few re it’s that the hallways were dark. I can confirm they are dark but that is the ambiance of the atrium.
most importantly they treat pets warmly. pets are welcome anywhere in the hotel including restaurants as long as they are on a leash and get no complaints from other customers. Our four legged family member received a dog bowl, treats and essentials at check in. This hotel isn’t just dog friendly they are dog lovers.
my family is excited to return to this hotel.
- DaraOct 5, 2020Fine option close to the park
Large motel that’s nothing special and a little worn down for the price. But closest you can stay to the Grand Canyon without being in the park. It worked for what we needed.
- SophiaSep 26, 2020Nice Pet Friendly Hotel
Since we are road tripping with a cat we needed a hotel that was pet friendly for cat. The room was in a perfect location on the ground floor and was right by the exit to where we parked. This made unloading our cat very easy. The people were very nice, and the humans enjoyed the pool and hot tub. For dog owners, our neighbor had a dog, and the rooms had their own back patio area with open grass, so their dog was able to play back there. Overall good hotel and only down the road from the Grand Canyon.
- MichaelFeb 20, 2020Great location
Great location. Hotel ok. Not many places to walk dogs
- DebbieFeb 17, 2020Close to Grand Canyon Entrance
The area we were in was under some construction or it looked that way. The rest of the establishment was nice. Not much in way of doggie area.
- PennySep 8, 2019Grand Canyon
Great room with direct outside access. Poor grassy areas for dogs. Resort is surrounded by parking lot. Found grassy area to the back that was field like but it worked.
- TrishJul 7, 2019Great Atrium Bar (Bourbon bar).
We did not actually stay here, we stopped in to have a drink. There is a bar in the atrium area and it is beautiful in there. Our fur baby hung out with us and the atmosphere is unmatched. There is another bar in the back if the hotel, but the scenery and ambiance in the Bourbon Bar is amazing!
- JohnJun 3, 2019Grand Canyon Roadtrip
There are very few dog friendly hotels in this area. Staff was wonderful and provided a doggie bowl with treat at check-in. Dog potty location out back by the dumpsters (the only grass in the area) was the only down side. Room was clean and quite. This hotel is very close to park entrance. I would recommend this hotel.
- MissyJan 8, 2019The Best Dog Friendly Hotel
Very close to Grand Canyon Park Entrance. Great rooms, indoor hot tub, and dog friendly saloon inside hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! Highly reccomend!
