- RobinJun 15, 2024No matter the time, pets are king!
We checked in late after a long drive. The night manager was helpful in every way and so friendly. A great stay.
- KENNETHApr 15, 2024Nice place
The room was great there was a full bath, a big fridge with freezer and pretty good complimentary breakfast.
- SFeb 21, 2024Stay away
Facts first: this La Quinta is about as old as the Mormon church. The keycard sensors on the guest room doors don't work well. We had to change rooms to get a working door lock. Front desk staff was sweet and apologetic but these are facts. The building is old, rooms are old. Fact: the bathroom had French door style doors that closed in the center. Never seen that. The window with a view towards the mountain had numerous bird poop strikes. So, not an appealing view. Fact: the doors to the back parking lot were propped open at all hours (at least until I un-propped them once).
There were empty male enhancement capsule packages in the parking lot near where we parked. There was a lot of traffic going to/from our neighbors room until the wee hours of the morning. There was booming music outside our poop stained window until wee hours of morning. Idk if my neighbor was a prostitute or not but it could have been a possibility. Every other chain hotel is located within a mile of this La Quinta. I suggest you book your stay at one of the other nearby properties who may also be dog friendly.
- Mike and RachelFeb 18, 2024Not very good
I don't understand the "great hotel" reviews on here. The place is old, run down and dirty. We arrived about 11:30 at night and were greeted by a young lady that I'm pretty sure was high. She says "I know you reserved a king room, but we only have a room with 2 double beds." What the heck? Why bother with a reservation system if you don't have any of those rooms? My wife and ended up sleeping in separate beds because they were so small. There's no dedicated pet area or bags anywhere. We usually love La Quinta because they are so dog friendly, but not this one.
- NancyFeb 12, 2024Fine for overnight stay
I've learned to expect one level of cleanliness/style for traveling with dogs and another for without. This is fine for traveling with dogs and there were tons of dogs here. If you're traveling without dogs, because they didn't differentiate, expect the place to be a bit battered.
- DONNADec 2, 2023Great room
Clean and comfortable room, nice breakfast.
- JamesNov 29, 2023It worked
It was okay. Worked for the night. Breakfast was sparse. Staff was friendly enough.
- AnneNov 25, 2023Poor Reception
I got in pretty late. There were two people at the front desk older man and woman with pink hair. The older man didn’t even look at me, just pointed to the woman to check in. I asked for a room with one bed. She said, hmmm, I’m going to give you the room with two double beds. Alright, fine. She just took my card without telling me price. She seemed bothered when I asked where I ought to park and easiest way to get to the room. Didn’t say anything, just pointed down the hall. After a long day of driving, that was just such an annoying way to end the day. When we got to the room, the main light switch was jammed making it difficult to turn on and off without feeling like you’re breaking it. There was trash under the heater and the faucet would run water all over the counter when turned on. The room was fine for one night. The morning receptionist was much kinder.
- AndreaNov 4, 2023Horrible Accommodations
The door sensor for our key cards did not work. Even with the front desk knowing, they did nothing, and it would take us 1-5 minutes to get inside the room. That’s a long time to be frustrated and standing in the hallway, especially with all your things. The room was stained and gross. The bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way. Room smelled like disinfectant. The sink drain stopper was broken, not that I was using it, but c’mon. Fix that. It’s like $2 for a new one. Breakfast was a diabetic’s nightmare. They didn’t even have water. But they had fake OJ and apple juice. The only thing somewhat suitable to eat were these egg omelette things, which part of mine was ice cold. One point for having hot sauce. The La Quinta is hit or miss. Read reviews first. This place is inexpensive for a reason.
- ChristineOct 14, 2023Mostly a Great Stay
Our stay at La Quinta at SLC Airport was generally great. The room was fine and pups Texas Jack and Irving enjoyed staying on the first floor and not having to go anywhere in an elevator. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem was with breakfast, which was indeed free. Breakfast dishes came out v-e-r-y slowly, beginning at 7 a.m. (as scheduled) but not having everything out until 7:45. Breakfast was pretty standard. The worst, however, was that the hotel staff treated all of the chairs (and possibly tables) in the breakfast area with an oily stain, and then put them right back in the breakfast area. My husband got dark brown oil stains on both legs of his khaki pants. Why not caution people or put out other chairs temporarily?
- DebbieOct 10, 2023Nice room
I would definitely recommend this place for other pet owners. The staff was helpful and accommodating. Grass yard and good food. I would stay there again.
- LindaOct 9, 2023Perfect for a short stay
Easy access to the freeway, friendly front desk who made sure I had a room close to an exit door as I was traveling with pets. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I was pleased to find a microwave and fridge. The quality toiletries were also a pleasant surprise. I’ll stay again.
- VanessaOct 9, 2023Easy access
Nice, clean rooms and great breakfast. Friendly staff.
- DonnaOct 3, 2023Great location
We appreciate the building, the surrounding area, and not adding a pet fee.
- JohnOct 2, 2023We're done with LA Quinta forever
Booked this place based on no pet fee and BringFido reviews. I was slightly apprehensive about recent reviews of smelly rooms. Our room didn't smell but it had about everything else wrong with it. We stayed at one of these in Albuquerque and I overlooked this, but that location was awful too.
Okay, first off they cover all the pet rooms with poorly maintained carpeting. It was really gross. Wall to wall stains and some areas were so saturated that it was mushy underfoot, barf! Walls had chipped paint throughout and untreated damage to the drywall.
Our room was 4 doors down from the side entrance and it had mosquitos that feasted on me all night. We thought the TV was broke until I checked the cables and realized someone unplugged it. My partner's key card stopped working after an hour and it never got within three feet of anything with a magnetic strip. The complimentary toiletries are a joke. The tiniest bottles imaginable that you have to squeeze violently AND wipe it away quickly or the bottle sucks it back up. The gave us no bar soap. Stains on the bathroom surfaces. Whatever maintenance and cleaning crew they hire are committing highway robbery. Aside from changing the sheets and towels and emptying the garbage, nothing else gets done.
The outdoor areas are swarming with mosquitos in the warmer months. I'd say bring bug spray but that effectively gives my endorsement to stay here, which I wouldn't give in a million years. This is Motel 6 quality for twice the price. All the other hotels in the area charge pet fees but I assure you it's worth every penny.
- MarthaAug 31, 2023Shower didn’t work
I checked in around 9pm and was assigned to room 120. I planned on taking a shower before going to bed only to discover that the pool on the tub faucet that you need to pull to switch to shower didn’t work. I went to the front desk to ask for a different room but they were sold out. So although I had a bed to sleep in, I couldn’t take a shower because the maintenance guy wasn’t going to be back in until 6:30am.
- JoelAug 28, 2023Solid SLC Hotel
This was our second stay. The previous one was during the winter pre-COVID. My dads were pleased that the establishment was able to maintain the property, decent breakfast (few hot options), and friendliness of the staff after a difficult period. The rooms were clean and included useful microwave and refrigerator with a small freezer. My fathers didn’t realize that the hotel was near many greeneries that I could sniff and scratch. They said that they would be back again whenever we need a night stay at SLC. Woof!
- ChristineAug 9, 2023Very nice facility
This hotel exceeded our expectations.
- JoanneAug 4, 2023Very dog friendly
The large rooms are great when you have 3 dogs. Very comfortable! In-room fridge with plenty of room for our refrigerated dog food too! Large bathroom where we could put pets’ water bowl without it being in the way.
- NancyJul 31, 2023Needs lots of maintenance!
This is the 3rd year in a row that we have stayed here. The first stay was great - we had our German Shepherd and 2 cats. The room was big and clean, the staff great, the rate was awesome. Last year we noticed that the place was a little “used" but still seemed clean, staff were nice and friendly. It was ok. This time, the first room they put us in smelled so bad, we couldn’t do it. We immediately got a different room; this one didn’t smell as bad (at first) but the sink in the bathroom didn’t drain, the light over the sink in bathroom didn’t work, and there were several dead bugs around the room- on desk, on tub.
We were dead tired from driving 12 hrs, so we just decided to stay there. We went to dinner and when we got back, the room definitely had a urine smell. We were only traveling with two kitties so we know that they didn’t pee in the room! It just felt dirty. The bed was clean though We didn’t even want to take showers. The staff were friendly and nice, but I just feel like the place has gone down hill. We liked the easy to get to location and the price, but next time we’ll stay somewhere else.
- More than a year agoGreat place to stay
We enjoyed our stay. I took advantage of the gym, pool, and Jacuzzi. They were all great to have. The gym was small but sufficient. The pool was especially nice after spending time in the spa. The location was safe. Our room was nothing fancy, but perfect for traveling with a dog. Staff were great, friendly, and helpful. The property is located right by the freeway. The only drawback was that there weren’t any eggs with breakfast; they said their order hadn’t come in. We would definitely stay again.
- AllisonJun 15, 2023Nice area
Nice room, we had our two cats with us. It was a pet safe room and price was decent.
- KristinJun 11, 2023Terrible!
The carpet was stained in the room and nothing was working (tv wouldn’t turn on, lights were malfunctioning, no phone in room). The front desk clerk was beyond rude when I called to politely ask about the tv and phone. Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere else!
- CarolynJun 7, 2023Very nice place
Wish they had opened up the gate from the outside near the pool area so we didn’t have to walk the dog through the lobby to get out and go potty in the AM.
- AmyMay 23, 2023Clean and inexpensive
Quick overnight stay. Descent breakfast and nice staff. Not really any restaurants nearby.
- DeniseFeb 28, 2023Wonderful place
Great place. Room was clean, bed very comfortable, staff friendly and they didn’t charge us for our dog. I can’t for the life of me figure out what people want who were disappointed. The hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and airport. Quiet, safe, clean and comfortable.
- KirstinDec 11, 2022Nothing fancy. Good place for rest.
Having a safe place for me and the dog to spend the night was my goal. La Quinta was just that. Microwave in room and coffee ready at 4:30 am were greatly appreciated.
- RodrigoNov 17, 2022Horrible stay
Is nice they accept dogs and the hotel looks nice from outside, but the mattress and room were awful. I was not able to sleep.
- DeAnnOct 1, 2022Convenient for a quick stay
Not super pet friendly, more pet tolerant. Rooms could use some updating but overall good for what we needed!
- DashunSep 22, 2022Not bad but not great
Stayed here one night traveling from Yosemite to Kansas. The hotel itself is okay but the staff was a little lackluster, I was giving the wrong room and was told breakfast was until 9:30 but it ended at 9am. I stayed in room 112 and the pool light shined in the room all day. I probably would stay there again just lower my expectations.
- TerriSep 20, 2022Wonderful Stay
Close to areas to walk the dog. Rooms were clean, quiet.
- DennisSep 16, 2022Very nice!
Very nice rooms and staff.
- NikkiSep 5, 2022Dog area
This place had a nice dog park that is gated. Bathroom could use an upgrade - broken tiles were repaired with yellow glue. Bathroom door didn’t close. Mold in corner of bathroom wall next to shower. Refrigerator didn’t close. Dog and Human friendly staff. Good breakfast.
- ChrisAug 28, 2022Looked okay on the outside
But the door stuck, the keys took some work, and half of the stuff you need to make coffee wasn't in the room.
- FernandoAug 25, 2022Not the same anymore
It used to be a very clean place, but in 2 years has deteriorated a lot.
- MatthewAug 21, 2022Nice location especially for air travel
Definitely dog friendly!
- MaryAug 19, 2022A great Place for Dogs
The La Quinta treats dogs as well as the human guests. There is a beautiful dog area completely enclosed with a gazebo and places to eat while your "best friend" can run leashless in real grass and space. It is one of the best places we stayed on our trip because both dogs and owners could relax in the open air. Angela, the GM was especially thoughtful and loves dogs; she took the time to describe the enclosed space for dogs. This place is a real game changer when it comes to treating dogs and owners with the same care and professionalism. While this La Quinta is near the airport, the landscaping protected all from the noise and provided an inner, safe sanctum for all.
- KyleeAug 3, 2022Quick and easy
We stayed for one night and it was a quick and easy process. Plenty of grassy areas to utilize. Clean room, breakfast and coffee in the morning. No complaints.
- RachelJul 10, 2022Great for a night
Spacious room, great pet area, friendly staff. A bit dated in the decor if you care about that, but for the price and accommodations it was perfect!
- DeborahJul 10, 2022Passable
Awful bed and pillows.
- SimoneJun 29, 2022Clean and friendly
Clean room, friendly front desk.
- LydiaJun 5, 2022Worst experience you could have
Save your time, money and sanity and choose a different hotel! They charged me for two nights even if I made sure to call ahead of time to fix their mistake they make on the reservation. Not only they didn’t fix the mistake, they removed my two dogs from the reservation. They wanted to give me a 3rd floor room. I stayed in the hotel for half a day and ended up $330 for the room because they are incapable of doing their job properly. Pure scam artists!! also property is very loud you won’t be able to rest. Dog rest area very dirty and not maintained. Many other options to choose.
- DAVEMay 4, 2022Great Value!
Ideal stop for my dog and I. Convenient to the freeway and comfy rooms.
- RobertApr 21, 2022Run down
The only thing that we liked was one of associates. He (Shane) was really courteous and helped us with our luggage helped us get to our room as well as get us a different room which we thought was an accessible room only to find a bar on the tub. The bad things was that it looks like the building has structural issues. We didn't have our dog because passed away before we took our trip. This is why there is only two bones. Also they only had a breakfast at the hotel.
- LaurenApr 18, 2022Easy check in
Everything was smooth. Plenty of grass around the hotel. It was short but a good experience.
- JanetApr 17, 2022Okay
Few amenities and worn, but staff was very accommodating and room was clean.
- HeatherApr 11, 2022Great location, easy on/off the interstate
The property smelled clean and was easy to get to. It would be nice if they added a fenced yard for the dogs to run but as it was, I had to walk around the neighborhood to exercise the dogs.
- CarolMar 29, 2022Clean and comfortable
Nice room and amenities.
- GimelMar 21, 2022Clean & friendly
Spacious rooms. Clean hotel. Very friendly & helpful staff.
- VictoriaDec 31, 2021Great location!
Felt safe, and very pet friendly.
- ElaineDec 17, 2021Dirty carpet
The carpet in the room was disgusting stains and dirty. We could not control the temperature in the room and it was stiflingly hot. There was a large field to walk the dogs.
- BrandonNov 27, 2021As expected
The hotel met all expectations. I’m a little disappointed in BringFido for cancelling our reservation (stating the hotel was overbooked) without notifying me other than through email. I was driving in the car all day and did not have a chance to check email. Luckily the hostess at the hotel was able to restore my reservation and get us in our room. Next time, if there is a hiccup and my “room confirmed” status changes, call!
- BarbaraNov 10, 2021Average
Bathrooms need a do over
- ChristineOct 15, 2021Dog friendly
Very comfortable room.
- KarlaOct 3, 2021Nice grass for the dogs
I did 4 bones because the hot tub was closed and I was hoping to soak it in. Other than that it was a good stay. I wish hotels that allowed dogs would have tiled rooms instead of carpet. It would make more sense.
- DanielleSep 26, 2021Great location
Clean, friendly staff, our pups loved it.
- RebeccaSep 24, 2021Good pet accommodations
Often, we're told a place is pet friendly but then arrived to find no appropriate spot to use the potty. Your dogs are a priority here.
- RussellSep 18, 2021Wouldn’t recommend
Terrible, I wouldn’t recommend. Would never stay here again.
- AlexanderAug 24, 2021Enjoyed the stay
Not giving it 5 bones only because their doors kept rejecting the card keys. I even had to move into another room because of that. Other than that, it's a very nice place to stay at.
- BaleyAug 6, 2021It was okay
Staff was pretty dismissive and got put on the top floor regardless of pet. Long walk to get outside in the morning. There was also little to no area for pets to do their business. Not very big dog friendly!
- DebbieJul 15, 2021Nice Hotel
Room clean. Easy access to outside. Nice grass areas and provided waste bags for clean-up.
- CarolynJul 12, 2021Sticky floors & loud neighbors
The staff was very courteous and the airport shuttle was timely, but the carpets were stick. There was only one bar soap & shampoo in the bathroom, and the walls and floors seemed quite thin; we could hear our neighbors and the folks above us clearly. Ok but definitely lacking amenities.
- EmilyJul 11, 2021Great Amenities, Lacks Cleanliness
Great amenities for your fur babies- fresh green grass, clean area, lots of trash cans, pet rooms on first floor near doors, etc. Stayed in accessible room and unfortunately would not return to this location based on the lack cleanliness. We checked in super late and were only there for a short time but the room smelled bad, there were lots of stains on the carpets, tons of pet hair, and the bathroom shower and wall were falling apart. To be fair, I left a report card but did NOT mention issues to hotel staff. I wish all pet friendly hotels would get rid of carpets!!!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
- CarolJul 8, 2021Nice Hotel
Rooms were clean and hotel staff were incredibly professional. Quiet area near the airport, not much in the way of restaurants or other activity. There is a large, off-leash dog park ~10 min east at N Redwood and N Star. Park is great, but encircled by a large homeless encampment.
- MichelleJun 24, 2021Happy pups
It was great knowing we had somewhere comfortable to stay with the pups as we were taking on the adventure of moving states.
- DavidJun 17, 2021Excellent accommodations
Very clean room, was on ground floor close to outside door exit.
- KaterynaJun 13, 2021Great little hotel!
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Staff is fantastic, great amenities, sweet location! They have a fantastic green area for your dog to do their business. The hotel itself is a little bit older, but very clean!!! Beds are comfortable! We will definitely go back and stay there again next time we go to Salt Lake City!
- LisaJun 10, 2021Not bad
If you’re looking for a place that is easy to have your dogs at, this will work for you. It’s nothing fancy- the beds are small, and the rooms are old (there was rust in the tub/shower). But the grassy area for the dogs to take care of their business was very large, and clean. One thing I did find weird though, was the fact that there was a coffee maker in the bathroom. Who wants to brew coffee in the bathroom???
- ColleenMay 22, 2021Nice Room, Horrible Coffee
Nice Room, but had to go down and replace keys as they didn’t work in room. Clerk insisted I must have desensitized them by putting them on my cell phone which I hadn’t as I had the phone in my back pocket. Dog friendly, nice location and nice staff. plenty of room to walk dog.
- CindyMay 22, 2021Dog Friendly
Giant dog friendly, pet friendly courtyard. Will stay again.
- JeffryMay 7, 2021Good stop for both people and pups
The hotel was of good quality just like most other la Quinta hotels we have stopped at. The only downside was not the hotel but the fact that there are so few places to have dinner in the area, if that is something that is important.
- DodyFeb 22, 2021Very welcoming
This is a nice hotel and very welcoming to our two large dogs.
- AdrianaFeb 19, 2021Great Price!
Husband and I booked an almost week long trip to this location and brought our 80 pound dog. We booked a king suite so we had some extra room for the doggo. I requested a room on the 1st/2nd floor but got put on the 3rd floor, however our room ended up being right next to the elevator that lead to the back of the hotel, where there were several area for the pup to go potty! The room was clean and very neat. The areas were nice and spacious for him to roam and go potty. Just be mindful as some dog owners did not pick up after their pups, despite the hotel having a waste station with poop bags provided. Would definitely stay here again!
- MelanieNov 29, 2020Easy location
Pseudo pet friendly during COVID-19, got room on 3rd floor in the middle. No extra accommodations for a pet, small relief area.
- CatherynNov 9, 2020Not accommodating for pets
Travelled with 4 dogs. Policy is 2 dogs per room, so I reserved 2 rooms for 2 adults. When making reservation asked for 1st floor and rooms that were joined by an interior door. When arrived I was told there were no rooms next to each other, so we were across the hall. Rooms were in the middle of the hallway and not close to an exit. And on the 2nd floor. We had to take the 4 dogs on an elevator to go outside each time. We weren't the only people I saw with dogs on the 2nd floor either.
- JeannetteOct 11, 2020Basically good with some drawbacks
I chose this La Quinta for my SLC trip with my sheltie based on the fact I could get to downtown in 10 minutes for a show, and that it allows pets to be left in the room unattended, which is what I needed. The room was sizeable and comfortable.
There were two drawbacks:
* A leaky bathroom faucet, which was strange in a higher-end hotel chain. Water seeped out heavily when it was turned to the hot water setting.
* A strange experience on check in, where the clerk almost melted down when I held the room keys next to my cell phone. He felt that I would demagnetize the keys, which I have never heard of, and which seems to be hard to determine if this really ever happens. All he had to do was mention this BEFORE I placed the keys on my phone, or not at all, in the absence of real proof this is an issue. Instead he threw a bunch of attitude to me, a very weary traveler. I put this down to stresses and strains of the "lockdown," but it would have been SO easy for him to pleasantly say something about keys demagnetizing BEFORE giving them to me, rather than later. - SusanSep 29, 2020Very convenient!
Lovely ground floor, non smoking room very close to the door. Parked close to door. Dog walking area right there. Cap’n Jack was very welcomed. 6 minutes from the airport yet quiet inside.
- CharlesSep 6, 2020Always a pleasant stop
We have stayed here multiple times-it is clean, reasonable, roomy and great for pets. There are several areas close by for pets to run. the only negative to this location is the lack of places to eat nearby
- JosephAug 31, 2020Satisfactory
We had a 1st floor ADA room with a king bed. The room wasn't as clean as most of the La Quinta chains. It smelled like a Large wet dog was sleeping with us.The price was affordable, room ok. Might book again but different room.
- ColleenAug 29, 2020Very nice
Very accommodating for dogs, nice rooms, clean.
- SuzanAug 13, 2020good place
A nice place for people and their dogs.
- StephAug 8, 2020Awesome
Clean and friendly!
- AuraAug 5, 2020Love they accept our furry baby:)
Very affordable for our family, including our furry baby:)
Just double check your blankets. We found a bed sheet dirty:(
Aside, from that nice hotel. - EvaJul 16, 2020Location Was Nice
location was nice
room was on the first floor (super happy)
lots of gross to walk my dog. however there was a creepy man at the back of the hotel area just chillin. he kept looking and when I went outside again to take my dog potty he was still there, this was at 10pm. - MicheleJul 6, 2020Pet Friendly
Great spot for pets! It's clean and the staff is friendly. Great location by the airport and 10 minutes from downtown.
- NicoleJun 18, 2020Convenient and pet friendly
Nice quiet location with ample dog walking opportunities on the property.
- JimFeb 26, 2020Nice Hotel Very Bad Breakfast
- KimJan 9, 2020Reasonable and clean
I’d stay again.
- KimberlyDec 20, 2019Very convenient
Loved staying here. Very friendly staff and super convenient if you are driving through.
- LoriDec 6, 2019Predictable
Clean room and decent bed. The breakfast was lacking even for La Quinta standards
- KendraOct 29, 2019Very friendly staff, really comfortable beds and great breakfast.
- SherrieOct 10, 2019Review
There was plenty of grass around the property to take the pups out to. Rooms were a little dated but decent.
- KatherineSep 24, 2019Ok
Busy place with lots of noise. Designated potty area a ways from our room
- KristiSep 5, 2019Nice hotel!
This was my first stay at a La Quinta and I was very impressed! Free breakfast in the spacious lobby, and large rooms. A lot of parking available (multiple U-Haul trailers found spaces throughout the lot) and grassy areas around the hotel as well.
- KatelynAug 14, 2019No Pet Fee
It was nice that there was no pet fee and our room was nice and large and clean.
- LauraJul 21, 2018Great Room and Dog Friendly Areas
Our room was large and had a fridge and microwave which was great. Awesome indoor pool for the kids with nice outdoor patio adjacent where I could have our dogs and still watch the kids in the pool. Lost a star for the location. Lots of hotels in the area but hard to find a place to eat nearby.
