Excellent place
Best Western Eau Claire SouthThey run a great show at this Best Western! Clean, well-organized, and friendly. The doors do not slam, but they do close properly. The windows work well, as does the fridge. I would definitely stay here again with or without my dog.

Avoid this hotel
Ramada by Wyndham KearneyThe place is a strange maze with low ceilings, narrow corridors, and little indoor light. The first room they gave me was off a dingy narrow corridor at the back. The curtains didn't close, so you could see in from the parking lot, and you could hear the people next door sneeze. I asked for another room. The second room was between two corridors, so it had two entry doors. One entry door featured an old-fashioned "security" chain. Again, the curtains were hanging askew and didn't close - no privacy. Again, no sound-proofing. The place smelled strange. I did not stay. Front desk staff were lovely. That was the only redeeming virtue.

Broken fridge, security issues
AmericInn by Wyndham Lincoln NorthI told the woman at the front desk that the fridge was not working. She said, oh yes, some of the old ones don't work. I suggested she make a note of it in order to remedy the situation. No response. Then, I noticed that the back door did not close on its own. (Positive air pressure kept it open just a bit.) She said she'd been working on it the day before, when it would not open at all. She had no concerns that security was compromised by this known issue. Finally, the coffee was so weak you could see straight through it.
That said, check-in and check-out were fine, my dog was happy, the bed was great, and the place quiet.

Only minor inconveniences
Suburban Studios Denver TechEven though this place is behind a large mall and right by a major freeway, our room was quiet and good. We checked in in the evening, and I had to take our luggage and the dog through two separate key-access doors to get to our room. Kind of annoying. They'd had some water problems in the bathroom and the repairs to the wall were not pretty. But the kitchen area was great, the fridge and freezer worked well, and front desk staff were friendly and effective. I'd stay here again!
